Missing Perl Modules

If some modules are missing on your server for YaBB run as expected, read this post and the included links to get them.

First of all you have to know what modules are missing. The easiest way to know that is to use the ModuleChecker.pl within YaBB 2.3.1 or higher.
- If you have already installed YaBB 2.3.1 or higher then you find the output of this checker on the AdminCenter start page.
- Or you run the ModuleChecker.pl standing alone. You find it in the cgi-bin/yabb2/Admin/ folder. Save a copy of ModuleChecker.pl in the cgi-bin/yabb2/ folder, set the CHMOD to 755 and call it with your browser: http://www.yoursite.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/ModuleChecker.pl (Revise the URL as needed.)

Decide what modules you really need.

The first choice should always be to ask your server host to install the modules on the server!

If you are your own host or if your server host don't want to install the modules for you, search for the needed module on the CPAN site by copying and pasting the full module name into the search field. Then follow the install instructions you find here: Installing CPAN Modules.

If you want to install the modules locally, only for YaBB, then use the cgi-bin/yabb2/Modules folder as install directory. It can then look like this:
Path   Module
cgi-bin/yabb2/Modules/CGI.pm   CGI
cgi-bin/yabb2/Modules/CGI/Util.pm   CGI::Util
cgi-bin/yabb2/Modules/MIME/Lite.pm   MIME::Lite
cgi-bin/yabb2/Modules/Digest/HMAC_MD5.pm   Digest::HMAC_MD5
...

   If your running Y2.3 or a earlier Version of YaBB, download the attachment below.  Edit the shebang (Path to Perl), rename file to CheckModule.pl, upload using AscII transfer mode and CHMOD to 755.
