Embarrassingly, I don't think I really noticed the Mark & Quote feature until years after having used YaBB. Embarrassed

As for disabling that feature, I prefer to leave it up to the member or guest to make that choice rather than disable it for everyone. In other words, it's there if they want to use it; their choice.

Subsequently fixed in the newest version of YaBB (just as it works in this forum), the only thing I don't like about Mark & Quote in our 2.4 version is that it doesn't work properly with smilies. But I get around that simply by using Quote, and then deleting what I don't want. I did that routinely until I learned about Mark & Quote.

Morning, noon, or night, have a great one!

Yes, it's also a good offer) It makes the forum more simple and pretty))

Also at PM's. There is needed a quck-box for quick reply to inbox PM's sender. If at quck-box will be by default quoted inbox message, then will be there unnecessary "quote" button(if quoting is unnecessary, it may be deleted by user).

And all poorly used functions (multiple sending PM to various recipient or so on) can be accessed from "advanced/full" mode.

And for now all functions is in "advanced/full" mode and there is not simple mode for quick and simple access to only most used functions.

By the way, there is two buttons for quoting(quote/quote selected). The same thing can be done with only one button.

At the present time, my testing of this in this forum is that both Mark & Quote and Quote are needed depending on which option you choose.

But if you mean you can simply use the Quote option, and then delete the text you don't want, then I think I understand.

There are lots of controls because there are lots of functions. But generally on the Admin side, people set the options once and forget about them. I have two forums where I never go into the Admin center except to do backups and approve new members.

Turning on Topic Tools (like here) helps make things look simpler for users.

I've seen a lot of region based forums that make extensive use of the event calendar.

I think, it's better to complete my translated file, than try to do something with old lang-files...

I hope the 2.6.2 version will be more simple. There are too much various buttons and controls at current version, it's scares users.
Users feel confident, when in front of them one or two buttons  Grin And of cource, simple program is simple for translate)

It's interesting, do anyone use event calendar?
I've used a lot of various forums, but never feell need for event calendar))
Well, I'm know, that it's optionally)

YaBBForum.com is not using UTF-8. This is so the old Language Packs (like Chinese) will still work (sort of) and old threads (like the one's in this section) will render properly.

YaBBForumSoftware.com IS using UTF-8 all through.

What I think we'll be doing is offering 2 language packs for each language - one in the old encoding for old forums that have been upgraded and one in UTF-8 for 2.6.0 forums that are starting fresh.

And don't worry about having to convert it yourself. I have software that does a good job converting and it takes (maybe) 10 minutes for me to do the conversion.  Wink Chinese actually turned out okay in UTF-8.

Edited:
By the way, I'm positive this isn't Russian:
Code
Select All
'addtab_on' => 'Zeige Hinzufьgen- und Bearbeitentabs im Forum?',

But my translation is better  Grin
