I have a zip file of my translation as it is for the moment, uncomplete and mostly done for the users.

What do I have to do with it ?

Discuss the French translation here.  We need someone to make a French pack!

Does anybody know:

1) what font people are using to get the nice clean text on the buttons?

2) if anyone has a "collection" of layered PhotoShop files of the buttons that makes it easier to just change the text and save as PNG?

It would seem to be a good idea if we all worked from a common base and a common font.

Hi there.

I'm looking for the french pack for yaBB2.1 but i can't find it on the yabbs website.

Some french forums already use it :

http://www.cosmopolys.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl
http://www.davidmanise.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl

Maybe it's not an official release ?

Help !

I don't think there is one yet but if you can translate one read this http://www.yabbforum.com/community/YaBB.pl?num=1132109224/0#0.

I've been translating for a french pack also. When it comes to accented characters like ê in most cases I've used html escape codes (ex ê = ê)

Here's a list I found of all the escapes:
http://www.theukwebdesigncompany.com/articles/entity-escape-characters.php

Hope that helps

Also, as someone above mentioned it would be helpfull to have some info about how the buttons were created so they can be translated and still have the same look & feel

Awesome! My favorite Romance language. I know how to write and read French but not speak. I should install it but I have to talk to Danny first, after it's out/released.

Hey I just saw this, I made my own french pack, I didn't do any "back end" stuff i.e. admin, but everything the user sees is done and I'm in the steps of finishing the little things left (i.e. some feminin/masculin, plurals and stuff).

just the buttons (images) that are not translated

I found some english that was not consistent in the files though

like some places uses "thread", some "topics", some "subjects" (not subject as in title but as in discussion). It makes it a little harder to translate;)
