Niemand heeft het taalpakket geactualiseerd voor Y2.5, Laatste vertaling was voor Y2.4, de installatie van dat pakket zal in ieder geval het gemakkelijker maken om te werken.

Is there some one who is working on a Dutch Yabb 2.6.11 package?

In a few weeks I will try to start from Y2.4 as Captain John advised in Reply #60 .

Are there extra buttons, or is the button package from xnoddyx still the best???

Thanks  Wink

You don't need the button package at all for YaBB 2.6.11. (It's been replaced by Menu.lng.)

Notepad++ works really well for these sorts of things. (It's what I use for editing code.)

Does Dutch use an ordinal form for numbers?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordinal_number_(linguistics)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordinal_indicator

e.g.

In English

1 => 1st  (first)
2 => 2nd (second)
3 => 3rd (third)
4 => 4th (fourth)
5 => 5th (fifth)

http://www.ego4u.com/en/cram-up/vocabulary/numbers/ordinal

In Spanish
1 => 10 (primero)
2 => 20 (segundo)
3 => 30 (tercero)

http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=263101

...

I hope this helps explain it...

I have looked at our Spanish main.lng, and I need to consult with our 'new' Spanish language maintainer. (I talked to him today) He is a professional translator, so I can get a correct Castilian (Castellano -- Official Spanish) fix. LOL, I also knew our last  maintainer (Yabbero, a very well educated Catalan speaker).

So, my Spanish example above is a good sample, but it may not be correct Spanish.

here is what Carlos had:

%timetxt = (
'1' => 'ro',  (primero) 1ro
'2' => 'do', (segundo) 2do
'3' => 'ro', (tercero) 3ro
'4' => 'to',

http://www.spanishdict.com/topics/show/26

So its a bit in dispute...

HOWEVER...

You can easily (well, with a bit of help) create the exactly correct version for your language  and/or dialect.

Cool

And if all else fails, we can create a mod that can adjust some of the things in DateTime.pm.

2 => 2nd (second)
3 => 3rd (third)

Hello everybody. I am the “new” Spanish language maintainer Jon talked to the other day. Sorry I am a bit late in coming in.

The correct way to abbreviate ordinal numbers in Spanish is the way Jon initially suggested, as follows:

JonB wrote on Jan 27th, 2015 at 3:02am:
In Spanish
1 => 10 (primero)
2 => 20 (segundo)
3 => 30 (tercero)

There is a slight catch to this, and it is that like all adjectives in Spanish, ordinal numbers are gender sensitive. What Jon says is correct for masculine substantives in Spanish, i.e. “el segundo hombre” (the second man) – el 20 hombre.

If the substantive it refers to is feminine, however, then instead of an 0 we would have to use an a, as in “la segunda mujer” (the second woman) la 2a mujer.

However, there not being a rational rule in Spanish to determine which substantives are masculine and which are femenine (there are no neutrals – the table/la mesa is femenine, el libro/the book is masculine, why the hell should they be masculine or feminine anyway?) this as far as I have been able to ascertain in all kinds of computer programs and apps all over the place has just been simplified to using the masculine always.

Therefore what Jon says stands, that is:

1 => 10 (primero)
2 => 20 (segundo)
3 => 30 (tercero)

Now, in another order of things, I think I can safely say I know quite a lot of English, and quite a lot of Spanish, but I am pretty sure I can equally safely say I know precious little about any computer language or programming. So I can use any guidance you guys can throw at me to go and lend a hand completing the Spanish for the new Yabb version. How do I go about it? Can anybody give me instructions akin to those you would give to a four-year-old child such as go here (link) and change these words in there or whatever?
