$basedir is a directory, not a URL. Did you try it before modifying the file? It tries to autodetect its path. You can also set $basedir to '.' in many cases.

Do not PM me for support.

I played with this for hours lol

here is what I have done so far

Permissions are all set to 777

I have edited the converet.pl file as below, but I still get a server error

I have the files in my cgi-bin folder located off the public_html folder

$basedir = 'http://mysite.org/cgi-bin';
$basedir =~ s~\/converter\.pl\Z~~;

# Set the paths. We'll guess at them.
$inputdir = "$basedir/Input/phpBB2.pl";
$outputdir = "$basedir/Output/YaBB.pl";
$workdir = "$basedir/Work";
$convertdir = "$basedir/Convert";
$converteddir = "$basedir/Converted";
$scripturl = 'http://mysite.org/cgi-bin/converter.pl';

can anyone see what maybe wrong with this script?

Thanks in advance

I  seen several topics on this here  but still cannot seem to get a clear picture on how thi s convert function is supposed to work.

My phpBB install and my Test YaBB install folders are in the Public_html folder. (on a Linex Server using phpBB 2.0.19)

Do you install the converter.pl files in any cgi-bin folder or only in the YaBB directory ?

I understand you need to change permissions, I changed averything to 777 for ease

When I try to run the converter.pl file i get this message

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@theblackwatch.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Is there any other files that need to be oved into the cgi=bin folder ?

Thanks

Dave
