Hi,

is there a working solution to convert a WWWBoard 1.x based forum to YaBB 2.1?

Thanks

I found a small Perl-script which loops through all messages from a WWWBoard directory
and creates WebBBS compatible output. That seems to be pretty easy and it works quite
well. But now, how do I get this information into a YaBB board?
Huh

I know Perl good enough to rewrite the script to call a "YaBB-create-(sub)message-API". Does
such a thing exist?

Thanks for further help.

I attached the script. The output of the script are files in the format of:

SUBJECT>Text
POSTER>Name
EMAIL>eMail
DATE>Date
EMAILNOTICES>no
PREVIOUS>Number
NEXT>Number Number ...
LINKNAME>Text
LINKURL>URL
Message-Text-with-HTML

Unfortunately, it's not that easy.

The best bet for a good conversion is using the YaBB Universal Converter and writing your own input driver. I would be willing to help you out with that, but the E-blah driver should provide a decent starting place.

SUCCESS!!  Grin Grin

1. Converted the old WWWBoard to UBB
2. Installed a Trial-Version of UBB
3. Copied the converted UBB messages to the UBB board
4. Rebuild/repair index in UBB
5. Run YaBB universal converter UBB -> YaBB
6. Copy files to proper locations and edit some other files
7. Rebuild/repair index in Yabb
8. Looks good!

The only thing left is to remove the HTML code from the WWWBoard (or UBB) messages.

Cheers
