Re: Choose what features we added to YaBB 2.3!
Absolutely. They all use Photobucket which has a resize facility anyway (just one click and it's done) but some don't do it which makes it awkward for other members to read the post as the text always extends the width of the frame (especially if you have a long post, a few pics and a fair amount of test - typical in an account of a day out in the field).

I've also got the imageshack uploader which will create thumbnail links which I repeatedly ask to be used, but hey ho that's the way it goes  Smiley

Cheers

Indeed, that would be quite a welcome addition.  While the Members page does have a "Find Member" box, it isn't quite a search box because it requires an exact username match; it would be nice if partial matches were allowed, as well as searching based on other criteria.

Also, I'd love a "quick-jump" alphabetical link in the Admin Center, like there is in the regular Members page (e.g. when sorting by name, you can click on "M" to get to names starting with M).  This isn't in 2.1, although maybe it was included in 2.2 (I haven't had a chance to upgrade yet).

And, a means to jump to a given page, e.g. if there are 100 pages of members, right now the only way to scroll through those pages is to click on the numbered page links, but if you need to get to (say) page 50, you have a LOT of clicks to do!  It would be good if we could just type "50" in a "Go to page" box and it would take us to page 50, without all that clicking.  This would be both for the Admin Center and for the regular Members page (which has the same problem).

Finally,  when viewing the Members in the Admin Center, only their Display Names are shown; it would be good to be able to see both their Display Names and their usernames simultaneously (or to choose which one to show).

There was an addon just for admins. But unfortunately I do not know the name. It used to show you, in which area the online-members were doing something. You could see, whether they where reading or replying. And in which area they've been doing it.

Sounds like the "WhoIsWhere" mod.

A sort of way to show every avatar in thumbnail instead of having to select 1 per 1 to see what it is would be great too.

yes it was Who is Where , only supported till yabb 2.1

It was great mod, i really need it but dont know any mod writers are working on it or not.

its most wanted by all , specially staff members,

and it can be used also for looking after visiters and spammers and much more.

Sounds like you have an avatar gallery or library in mind.

Re: Choose what features we added to YaBB 2.3!
I suggest to implement:

1.
Reverse Post in Topic
- http://www.boardmod.org/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=newsy22;action=display;num=1208441461

2.
Options to set the topics to be SORTED within the Board
.

Re: Choose what features we added to YaBB 2.3!
I'd sure like to see "SMART" image resizing - close to what was in the 2.1 attachments thing.

I guess that would require a call to the resizer every time a page was built, as I discovered the image was stored 'full size' on attachment.

Maybe an option to turn it on/off.  Wink

just my two cents!

Cool

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Re: Choose what features we added to YaBB 2.3!
Another feature I'd like: that YaBB will return me to the page I was viewing after login!  Right now, login returns me to the main forum page... but if I log in from a sub-page, I'd like to get back to that sub-page.

This could be reasonably easily accomplished by adding a "redirect" field to the login form (populated with the Referral URL, or for systems that don't support that, YaBB could pass the previous page in as a GET parameter... or if you're integrating in the "Who Is Where" mod, the previous location could be read directly from the file where WIW stores its info) and then setting $yySetLocation to the redirect URL instead of to $scripturl ...

Heck, maybe I'll just write that myself, if you don't do it. Smiley

(Another reason I want this mod is that it will allow me to more "nicely" integrate AJAX Chat with YaBB 2.x, something it currently does not support.)

Oh, and here's another:
When replying to a post, after submitting the reply or editing an existing post, I'd like to be taken directly to the new (or newly-edited) post.  Right now, I get taken to the page where the new/edited post is, but not to the post itself.  It would be great to be taken right to the post (much like vB works).  Basically, just add the #NN (where NN is the reply number of the new/edited post) to the URL. Smiley

Just install the 'Reverse Post Order in Topics' Mod. It does fix this problem Wink

Good to know... but I don't really need to reverse the post order! Is that customizable?

Anyway, the idea was to get it included, without a mod. Cheesy

Yes it is customizable!!!

I am trying to convince Corey to allow to include it in YaBB 2.3.0 ....
