It's not a mod "yet" Wink

but how about what Jet Li had as a mod for the other versions and phpbb currently has where users can personally choose whether they wish to see others avatars and signatures? It's helpful for those viewing at work, those that don't scrolling as far because of signatures.

Awesome suggestion... that feature is available on vBulletin, for example, and it really helps in reducing bandwidth usage for people on slow connections. Good idea!

Oh and I forgot to mention something else that would be great. The post and reply button that appear even if you are not registred. So every forum noobs that come will try to post and figure out that they need to register.

And for the other post, yeah I was talking about an Avatar Gallery, thanks for giving me the name Tongue

Indeed! If Guest posting is turned off, it would certainly be great if these buttons just didn't appear. Not only would it be more user-friendly, but it would cut down on bandwidth used up by search engine bots who follow the post/reply links all the time.

Well, In reality I was talking about the inverse, adding thoses 2 link when guest posting is disabled. Now it will be more user-friendly, but it won't help the optimisation of the forum for the robots.

I would also like to see the 'Quick Quote' mod incorporated into this as its very handy for quoting multiple people at the same time.
Great mod that I always install again after upgrading my forums.

call me stupid if you like, but seriously, all the mods that work should be included. Constantly adding mods on every update is driving me insane, I love the full blown all mods on version of YaBB, it is the only way I can justify using it... but it is friggin hard work to keep up with the the latest security / bug updates, and maintaining the functionality that users are familiar with. It may explain the less than expected number of downloads of the new versions, as we all wait patiently for version 3.

I would be a terrific feature that as each mod comes out it is added to a download version of YaBB "Yabb Fully Loaded" or something like that. Give the choice of the basic or the all knobs on. You would be doing yourselves as developers a great favor and us as you faithful users a great service.

Please give it some thought.

Not to imply you are stupid at all, but the reason every conceivable mod is not included in YaBB is because many of them are features the majority of users will choose not to use. So why bloat their code and make them download/upload dozens of specialty files they don't need?

The whole idea is to keep the code fairly simple and smooth, yet at the same time make it expandable easily to suit the needs and wants of the individual user. In my own forums I use some mods (that the users want) in one forum, but not in others because the users don't want them, but want others instead.

There is also the matter of how big an Admin Center would have to be to allow turning on/off every single mod, and the matter of developers having to make sure every single mod worked with every single other mod. That's a lot of time they could spend fixing something or adding a feature that has popular support. Not to mention the Support Team would now become the support team for all mods. That's a bit much.
