One week early from the planned schedule of releases every 3 months, YaBB 2.3.1 is here!  Many bugs have been fixed from version 2.3.  In addition, we are excited to announce some new bonus features, including support for MySpace videos, a password strength meter, an option to search within YaBBC tags on the post search page, Net::SMTP::TLS mail support, and a backup recovery feature.  We are also pleased to announce that YaBB is beginning to embrace Ajax; the features now using this technology to start out are Favorites, Notification, Moderator/Member QuickSearch, and Admin Delete.  Version 2.3 began this trend with the Mark as Read feature.  This will improve the speed of these functions and reduce bandwidth and server resources used.

All installed fine with Mods in place.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this version.
Page loading where there are lots of pictures is 100% better, less jumping about  Smiley
Pages seem to load quicker but will tell when there are more people on the boards.
Superb job, thanks again  Wink

If some of you used the update package to update from 2.3 to 2.3.1, it would be nice to hear your experience and thoughts also to this, since this is the first time we offer an special update package.

Thanks!

The update package does not work properly since "AdminIndex.pl" and "YaBB.pl" have not been updated! They are still version 2.3

are you sure?  Huh

Code:
### Version Info ###
$YaBBversion = 'YaBB 2.3.1';
$YaBBplver = 'YaBB 2.3.1 $Revision: 1.21.2.11.2.7 $';

Code:
$adminindexplver = 'YaBB 2.3.1 $Revision: 1.26.2.10.2.17 $';
$adminindexplver =~ s/\$Revision\: (.*?) \$/Build $1/ig;
$YaBBversion = 'YaBB 2.3.1';

I used the update package and it was a charm to use. I read the readme and followed the instructions.
Only one thing changed during the update that was not meant to.
The colour of one of my usergroups had gone from purple to black.
Everything else went smoothly.
All posts and members updated fine.
Its a lot easier to do via the update, like you said you just have to make sure you CHMOD the re uploaded files..

I Also did a full install for testing purposes and that went on fine also.
I did spot a few spelling mistakes in the Setup file but thats nothing important.
The Ajax notify and favorites works nicely.

I would go for the upgrade option for my live forum again, cheers Smiley

First of all - great job!  Smiley

Just one little thing: there is no new yabblogo.png in the update package.

Perfection! Sheer perfection! The upgrade was smooth as silk and went off easier than any other upgrade I have done on YaBB and 2.1 was my first board.

Kudos to the development team and giving us the upgrade download to make the process the easiest ever! Can't thank you all enough!

Next update can we please have sub forums? That would be the super.

After I updated, I clicked SAVE per the readme.txt on the Forum Settings and got an error stating that the Password-Strength-Meter Scores were invalid. I entered the appropriate string and all was fine. No big deal, but a preset default entry would have been nice.
