New Subs.pl in CVS (soon also in SVN).

The problem should fix itself after a while with this new file Wink No need to run any maintenance.

Normally there is no HTML at this place. Was an error I introduced some weeks ago Smiley Cheesy

It seems that something has corrupted a bunch of .vars files over the last couple of days.  My account didn't have any problems, then it suddenly did.  I've fixed any profile issues I found, but I'm sure many others have not.

He has this:
<a href=

You know, that's not what I had. My .vars file must have been corrupted, because I used to have a perfectly fine link in there.  I've restored it now.

And MrDale95's too. I hope he hasn't modified his Profile the last hours because I want to know where the Problem comes from.

Using IE8 on Windows XP I see the issue too.  Viewing the HTML I see this odd unclosed and unused span in a few places:
Code
Select All
				<li><span class=<a href="javascript:closeLinks('737560787579741006')" style="position:absolute;right:3px"><b>X</b></a></li>
				<li><a href="http://www.yabbforum.com/community/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=73756078757974100" rel="nofollow">View cepheid's Profile</a></li>
				<li><a href="http://www.yabbforum.com/community/YaBB.pl?action=imsend;to=73756078757974100">Send PM to cepheid</a></li>
				<li><script type='text/javascript'>
<!--

// -->

			</ul><a href="javascript:quickLinks('737560787579741006')" title="Last online 04:11:33 hours ago."><b>cepheid</b></a></div>

This may not be the cause, but could be another issue... He has this:
<a href=

in his website URL box of his profile.  This means the website field is not being sanitized for proper input or not properly anyway.

Your running the Windows 7, Build 7000 beta?

Nope - IE 8 on Vista (32 bit)

Yes - the compatibility button did the trick - must be a browser specific issue - IE 8 works in mysterious ways  Shocked
Still it's strange that only cepheid's account is affected??

confirmed. But there are compatible mode button right from address URL field in IE8 which fix it. Smiley

@ JonB

Not only Windows 7. I use Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit with IE8 (Final and download separately)

Your running the Windows 7, Build 7000 beta?

AFAIK, you can't install the RTM IE 8 final on that build or the RC1.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/worldwide-sites.aspx

click on Attention Window 7 users.

BUT that artifact doesn't appear on IE8 in XP, so prolly due to the IE8 Beta

Here's the reason - They have 3 or 4 new features for the Windows 7 RTM that have to work with IE8, including one called XP mode plus the new multi-touch tablets (for kiosks and table pc's.)

For those who only use Windows with 'PCs', there's a OS specific version of IE for each flavor (XP, XP 64, Vista, Vista 64, Server 2003, Server 2008 etc), based on system components.

other stuff about this:

Good Luck
