Re: Add EventCalendar
New EventCalSet.pl in SVN.

Done this:
OH Eng wrote on Jul 9th, 2009 at 2:59am:
-I would move this option:Enable show 'Events' (Event-Scroll) on BoardIndex?so it is before the option to choose how many days to display.

OH Eng wrote on Jul 9th, 2009 at 2:59am:
You might also want to consider greying out this and other Event options if Events are turned off.

Hmmm, much to code here! Maybe later....

Fixed:Jet Li wrote on Jul 9th, 2009 at 6:40pm:
- Next Issue. if you choose a date in Go To with no Events. Then you got a blank Page. Maybe add like this "No Event for this day".

Works. Smiley

But this I can't confirm on my and on your board:
Jet Li wrote on Jul 9th, 2009 at 6:40pm:
- Go To Date is Month 1 Day 9 Year 2006If you visit BoardIndex. Should display current Date? If you click on Calendar link, then display current date, which is ok.

Now it work so:
0 - don't delete old events
1 - delete events older then today (also prevents adding events before today unless they are recurring events)
20090325 - delete events older than 25. March 2009
This works only in the moment you add or delete one event.

OH Eng, please fix/improve the text for this setting.

I would rename the setting to "Calendar Cleanup" and word it this way:

Calendar Cleanup - Keep or delete events from past dates by entering one of the values below:
0 - Keeps old old events
1 - Deletes events older than today*
YYYYMMDD (Example: 20070522) - Deletes events older than YYYYMMDD (May 22, 2007)*
NOTE: Deletion of older events does not occur until an event is added or deleted.
* = Also prevents adding an older event unless it is a recurring event.

Not good Idea to change this. Event List is not disable YaBBC Tags.

http://www.yabbworld.com/cgi-bin/yabb_db/YaBB.pl?action=get_cal;calshow=1;eventd....

Only in Scroller. Snack Text mean with '
'. If you no have long Event with '
', then display YaBBC Tags too.

Nothing tells a user that Snack Text = the "Read More" link.  So instead of calling it a name, how about doing as shown in the following screenshot?

That's an excellent way to say it, I think.  What I was also trying to do is let the user know Why they might want to use this setting, by showing the example of what it looks like if they exceed the limit setting and have YaBBC tags (like bold, italics, etc.) in place.

I know about the 3 years, I've used E.C. as a mod for a long time.  I kept hoping that if I did something with the Snack Text that you would send me a box of cookies or something, but it never worked.  Wink Grin

Re: Add EventCalendar
Next issue. If I have montly/yearly events.
Example:
monthly for 9th July/August/September/October 2009
yearly for 8th July/August/September/October 2009

Add new Event (unique event), old (monthly/yearly) events will
not
delete. 8th and 9th July 2009 will still there.

May impossible to delete it because one entry in eventcal.db for monthly/yearly event

Old unique Events will delete, if add new Events.

Right. Monthly and yearly events are not deleted automatically.

New EventCal.pl in SVN.

The possibility to view a whole month with the "Go to: ..." was removed by mistake some days ago. Added again => You must set the day to "---" before you click on "Go".
