YaBB (posts/replies/im/...) would behave as it does now, it will save them with the server timestamp (I guess its the GMT timestamp worldwide) and calculates from this what to display for each user individually. Your post, for example, shows to me that it was done today (16. Dez.) at 19:14:23. This is MY time. For you it probably shows something different. This will not be modified by this feature.
You only don't need to go to your ControlPanel and modify your time settings manually when you move to other location, it would then be done automatically taking the time of the Computer you are sitting in front. Hopefully it has the right time Wink

That would be Awesome ... would it effect the time stamp on posts/replies or use the time/date of the forum location ?
Would be strange for example, I'd post from here to a forum in Australia and the date of the post I just made would be dated a day behind (my actual time vs theirs)

automatic time setting

I would like to see YaBB getting the time of the user PC to correct the YaBB-user-time-setting.

If I am in New York today and tomorrow in Tokyo, I would like YaBB to show me automatically my local time. This can be done by adding a hidden input field in the login form, its timestamp value can be get by JS from the local PC. Then YaBB calculates the difference between this timestamp and the server time and updates the user time setting.
Assuming that the PC-time is always correct, the YaBB time should then also be always correct. This way we can also avoid wrong time display if the summer/winter-time-change on the server is different from the country where the user lives.
