I've warned users accordingly and informed them of the font download - thanks for that.
We have several 'expert' TeX users (academic or scientific users) so I'll pass-on any feedback.

Thanks again

I'm quite sure that my TeX for YaBB mod will not be incorporated in YaBB 3 - it's too specialized and a bit heavy for a standard feature. But i'll of course do my best to keep it updated - when the time comes.

I've visited the topic on the "Sciencefile" forum and would like to point out two things:

1. Be aware that the mod is still an early beta (0.2) - meaning it is still under development and comments and requests from specialists are more than welcome  Wink

2. Though the mod should work 'out of the box' it is strongly recommended for 'heavy' users to download and install the native TeX fonts.

This is probably a minority request as it is a little specialised, but I would love the new version 3 to include native support for TeX (maths typesetting).
Captain John pointed us to a mod which is now working on our YaBBB2 forum - http://www.sciencefile.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl - but the worry is that it won't work when we upgrade to V3 and this would be a real loss.
So, as the designated begger, I've been sent to beg Smiley
