Thanks for the positive feedback jrjiri!

The WordPress theme in use has got cross-browser render issues, particularly in the header area. (especially since YT injected a PHP include into the header to accommodate the site navigation).  It uses a 1 px wide background image with an X repeat as a 'framing' for the top menus, not very elegant.  I had to stretch it a bit and do some bit twiddling (ugggh). On the other hand, the author has built-in a lot of other easy to use stuff, and made a nice set of color renditions.

I'm building a ground-up WordPress theme of my own. That project requires 'deep grokking' of the WordPress core, and finding the right extensible framework. I did one a few years ago based on 'Sandbox', now I am grokking 'Thematic' authored by Ian Stewart (who has since become an Automatic employee).  Now, that is Geek HotSpot One other than maybe Twitter or Facebook...

BTW, the site is hosted on an old XP Home box, on a DSL connection using XAMPP -- in part as a way to show folks how to use these technologies themselves.  (Tutorials on the way).

Cool

Looks great and loads fast (esp in Chrome). Nice work!

On the wordpress page the subtitle/byline ("to Love, Life, YaBB, MySQL, XAMPP & WordPress") of the headline at the top of the page is a bit low and bleeds into the pinstripe below it just a wee bit, but other than that, it looks excellent.

Kudos sir!

I went looking on www.findicons.com and found a set called 'Alerts'.

They are 3d and pretty cool I think  Wink, and I took your advice about darkening .tabtitle some.  Thanks for all the suggestions,

I'm beginning to feel pretty positive on this!  Cool

I put ann.gif, documents.gf, and recycle.gif on 'wrong' boards so you could see them without registering (being the wonderful human I am )

How would this one look?  Color wise I mean.  The graphic itself needs work in terms of alignment and such.

Those folders do look like little green toasters don't they?  Grin

Thanks for the idea.

Pretty nice, JonB.  The first link took about 20 seconds to load though... not sure why that is.  2nd time took about 5 seconds, 3rd try was about 6 sec.

I liked everything about it except for two things and these are pretty picky:
1. The light orange text color is hard to read against a gradient as you have on the menutops.  You might consider darkening it about two shades just to it doesn't fade out at the top where the gradient lightens a lot.
2. Boardpic.gif - is that a green folder or a toaster with a piece of toast popping out of it?  Wink Grin Grin  Just kidding!  It might help if you rotate the folder image a bit or if not, maybe change the color of the drop shadow at the bottom to clearly define the flat bottom of the folder.  It blends too easily with the bottom now so it looks "foldery" at the top, but the bottom is up for grabs.

See, I told you those were very picky things.

Nice work!

I have not yet packaged it for Board Mod. Its no real big deal just an easy going clean Green 2.4. Maybe "Kleen & Green", LOL.  But once I get all the little stuff fixed, (and read Carsten's notes for the nth time) I have this and two other color sets, each on its own idea.

This one was built to go with a Wordpress theme I used on the site I am building. (very much just getting going)
