Why not control access using Member Groups?  Then if you have people who don't renew, put them into one particular group, say, NonRenewed.  Then you can edit your Categories and Boards and control whether they can see anything or do anything on the forum.

You are still going to have to edit their membergroups them all to keep them out.  The forum was designed to have large membership and to weed out the few bad apples here and there, not really designed to weed out hundreds of people in one whack.  But going forward it should be easier to do a few at a time.

thanks - good point about it slowing down the server.
Can you suggest any quick way to delete all the users then?

Banning is recorded within Settings.pl in the ./Variables folder, under
Code
Select All
###############################################################################
# Banning Settings (old ban.txt) #
###############################################################################

$ip_banlist = ""; # IP banlist
$email_banlist = ""; # EMAIL banlist
$user_banlist = ""; # USER banlist

But would not personally advise doing this with "900" users, would possibly put a load on your server and may slow it down to process that many every time someone attempts to login or visit the site as a user laready logged in.

I am using my Yabb forum for a members subscription only club. All registrations are made by me - other registrations are not allowed.

At the end of the year not everyone renews for the next year so I want to ban them from using the forum.
I dont want to delete their forum record in case they do rejoin eventually, and also so that old postings will still show their name.
I know I can add their ID into the members ban list, but I have 900 to do.

Does anyone know the name of the file that contains this list, so that I can do it off line and then just upload it?  Is it in a file?

thanks
Jill
