Security Center - Broke?

Yea, i added a few ip's today in the security center once i saved

my forum was just giving me my "404" error page? no access what so ever...   these ip's WAS NOT MINE i know that for a fact... so whats this about?

i had to go in my FTP .htaccess and take the ip's out to gain access to my forum

Now my other question is..

- If one is banned from a YaBB forum will it just give them a 404 error and not take them to the forum at all?

or is there something very wrong here??

and where would i go to ban emails? i went to anti spam settings emails... but it says email domain? so what if it ends with @yahoo? does that mean everyone with @yahoo cannot sign up?

just want to ban one email so where to go??

Thank you

IP blocking is done within the Guardian, under security settings
Quote:
Enter IP addresses or (partial) domain names you want blocked on server level?
(* wildcards allowed, one per line)

one ip must be entered fully on "one" line, then hitting Return on the keyboard, enter one more and so on.

The characters *, ? etc. can NOT be used !  Only numerals separated by "." (periods).

If one is banned from a YaBB forum

It is impossible to prevent someone from coming to your site, Banning prevents them from entering the site as a member.  They could still view anything a Guest would be allowed to.

Banning a User (Member) is easily done in their profile by the Admin, simply by clicking on their IP(s).
  Within Antispam Settings
Quote:
Blocked Email Domains
Enter the email domains that will be blocked during registration, guest posting or profile changes.
Leave blank to disable.
One domain per line. (Ex. unwanted.com)

That was helpful john but its not what im asking...

Please read my post again

or..

When one is banned from a YaBB forum do thety still see the forum (saying there banned) or does it give an 404 error?

Also last night my forum was fine and today when i visit it, it gave me a 404 error again i had to go in the FTP again .htaccess to take an ip out that i didn't even add?  sounds to be the security center added that ip ? but any ip i add if its mine or not mine the forum just goes to 404 error page....

Right well i think i know what i did WRONG

i added an ip i wanted to ban in the

"Global and Server Settings"

which caused my whole forum to go in "404" error mode....

and now i have just found

Member Controls

                    -

                        Ban Members usernames/emails/ and ips

i added the email and ip there clicked saved and the forum is till "fine"

so what is the Global and Server Settings  for then ? because if i add anything in there the whole forum just goes in 404 mode
