The username is never public (Admins can view), the Displayname is shown and is public.

First - what version of YaBB, anyway?

Use FTP or your Control Panel and check the size ot the affected Member's .vars file

they are in the form of memberusername.vars and are found in the ./Members folder.

If they are Zero bytes, you are likely having a server related issue. There are a variety of possible causes.

ARE YOU BACKING UP YOUR FORUM?

In version 2.4 there's a built in backup in the Admin center -

Methods for other versions:

Good Luck

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

I have since found out that when displayed in the members list the User ID has somehow been swooped with the Screen Name and is displayed.
Also when you go into admin edits all the details are missing

Members being locked out

Hi

I have had a problem on and off with some members suddenly not being able to access the site.  It has happened with one particular person several times even though I have set him up again with different details.
Others have been locked out and set up again and it has been OK.
I have tried looking at the start date and in each case the start date had reverted to 1/1/1990.  I have changed it to a date after the forum started and saved it but it does not seem to retain that and just reverts back to 1990.
This has happened on and off for several months and when i installed the last upgrade it seemed to stop for a while

Can you help

Thanks
