Help - Matt Swan
This is from one of our users, Matt Swan. He's having some really interesting troubles and can't post do to form spoofing on this site...

Have a couple issues I need help with.
#1 need to reset my password but the email sent to me for this purpose gives me this error when I try to access the site.

This action is not allowed from an outside domain!!
Action is: myprofile
Your Domain: www.yabbforum.com
Referer Domain: swannysmodels.com:2095

#2 Having an issue with the favorites function on my forum. Tried to post this to the yabb community forum but keep getting errors there as well. My favorites error is two fold;
First when you click on 'add to favorites' you get a gray box telling you this is being done but it is not. If you post to a thread and check the box to add to favorites you get this error ....

Error: Untrapped Error :
Died at ./Sources/Favorites.pl line 384.

However the post is added to the thread and now the thread is added to favorites. This is the only path that will add a thread to favorites. Any thoughts? Oh, and please send me a new password to webmaster@swannysmodels.com

Re: Help - Matt Swan
1st ... is Matt an Admin or a user ?
For Admin pass word access, see the YaBB Codex here: http://codex.yabbforum.com/YaBB.pl?num=1217258342

Since the forum is Y2.3.1 ...

Error: Untrapped Error :
Died at ./Sources/Favorites.pl line 384.

is this the complete verbose error ?

Line 384
Code Select All
  $elenable = 0;
  die ""; # This is here only to avoid server error log entries!
}

is not much help with diagnosing.

  Note: as for form spoofing, is it possible he did not sign off a pc used at work or visa versa at home, when he tried to login from the other ?

 If Matt is a user (member) he MUST contact the Admin of the forum to gain entry.

Re: Help - Matt Swan
The favorites issue has to do with the ajax... But I'm not sure why it isnt working for him considering we've had no other reports of this.

He is a normal user here and this is the board he is having trouble with.

Re: Help - Matt Swan
I registered at this forum, the Favorites script doesn't work (though get an image, stating Adding ... is displayed)
   But without dealing with the Admin of the site, the issue is dead.

}

 Actually we did .... When we released Y2.4 .. bug fixes included were:
- Java error with Favorites button if Quick Reply not enabled
- Java error with notifications and add to favorites

Re: Help - Matt Swan
Not of help: it keeps saying:
This action is not allowed from an outside domain!!

Also if I register as a new user I get the same error.
In one of the messages I saw something about spam or spoof.

Impossible if you ftp or use your host server panel to:
Quote:
Admin can't sign in

An Admin who has forgotten their password, may edit admin.vars file (located in ./Members folder) and overwrite the encrypted password with a plain text word, save and then login with this password.

If any of the above doesn't work, replace the admin.vars file with one from the installation zip and upload using AscII transfer mode (into the ./Members folder, overwriting the existing file), then use the default word admin as the username and password.

Re: Help - Matt Swan
That's what I try to say. Smiley

I didn't forget my password but nevertheless I've edited the admin.vars without any difference. Also a new account wasn't able to log in (same error message).

I think it has something to do with the settings about spam or spoof. I changed that to avoid multiple messages within 1 minute.

  Above is why I directed you to password editing ...  But you state you can sign in and have an Admin Center button, but can not enter ?

What is the url to your forum ?

Attach your Settings.pl from the yabb2/Variables folder, here. You'll have to change the file ext. from pl to txt to attach.

Re: Help - Matt Swan
I couldn't login at all (not as admin nor as any other user). Therefor the Admin Center wasn't accessible.

The url is www.bridgeweb.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.p

Re: Help - Matt Swan
Upload the attachment here on this post and overwrite the old file (change ext. to pl before uploading) on your server.
Also attach yabb2/Variables allowed.txt

  Post (attach) your yabb2/Paths.pl (changing the ext to txt)
