ok when you login goto admin then look for Security Center>The Guardian™ in there find Global and Server Settings then remove the check in Activate .htaccess to add IP blocks on server level?

i want the perl file that holds the ip's

for some reason the forum ? blocked an ip and its made my forum gone into 404..

now correct me if im wrong but... is this normal behavior?? why has my forum gone into 404? and does this (server Level) cause it?

my .htaccess in the main FTP is empty THIS IS NOT what im after, im after the perl file that holds banned usernames/emails/ips

i need to delete the recent ip that caus emy forum to go 404.

thanks

well if you have had a look in cgi-bin/yabb2/.htaccess and yabb hasent put any ips in it then look in
cgi-bin/yabb2/Variables/ then in Settings.pl on line 586 look for
Code (Perl)
Select All
###############################################################################
# Banning Settings (old ban.txt)                                              #
###############################################################################

$ip_banlist = "";                                 # IP banlist
$email_banlist = "";                              # EMAIL banlist
$user_banlist = "";                               # USER banlist

what is the url of you site?

ok in the Attachment download printenv.txt and renam it printenv.pl then on line 1 put #!/usr/bin/perl -- or #!c:/Perl/bin/perl.exe -- for win server then upload this to the same place as your YaBB.pl file then see if it loads up will look like this
Code
Select All
COMSPEC="C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe"
DOCUMENT_ROOT="C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs"
GATEWAY_INTERFACE="CGI/1.1"
HTTP_ACCEPT="image/gif, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, image/pjpeg, application/x-shockwave-flash, application/xaml+xml, application/vnd.ms-xpsdocument, application/x-ms-xbap, application/x-ms-application, application/vnd.ms-excel, application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, application/msword, */*"
HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING="gzip, deflate"
HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE="en-gb"
HTTP_CONNECTION="Keep-Alive"
HTTP_HOST="www.cyberwebs-wd.co.uk"
HTTP_USER_AGENT="Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; InfoPath.2; .NET CLR 3.5.21022; OfficeLiveConnector.1.3; OfficeLivePatch.0.0; WWTClient2; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)"
PATH="C:\Program Files\PHP\;C:\Perl\site\bin;C:\Perl\bin;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\bin"
PATHEXT=".COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.VBE;.JS;.JSE;.WSF;.WSH"
QUERY_STRING=""

but if you get
Code
Select All
#!c:/Perl/bin/perl.exe
##
##  printenv -- demo CGI program which just prints its environment
##

print "Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1\n\n";
foreach $var (sort(keys(%ENV))) {
    $val = $ENV{$var};
    $val =~ s|\n|\\n|g;
    $val =~ s|"|\\"|g;
    print "${var}=\"${val}\"\n";

then perl is off on your server and and you shud call your host

I, cant do that,

my host only lets me "RUN" pelr in the "cgi-bin" Folder where the forum is located, if i add printenv.pl to my root.. it will just act like a download, i only have perl enabled in my cgi-bin folder and perl is enabled all the time (unless they want to upgrade)

i think the problem lies within "The Guardian" because you see, i have had this problem before but i fixed it by deleting the ips... but now i have deleted them and i still have this error... so this makes me believe that the guardian has banned/blocked something on its own and its caused this "F#%&* up etc.."

Any ideas?  where is the guardians banned files??

it cant be The Guardian that is giving you the 404 as L_ith wrote on Jul 16th, 2010 at 8:18pm:
my .htaccess is empty

the printenv.pl was giving you the 404 as well and that file has nuthing to do with YaBB so it is your host that is having a prob
