And I guess the javascipt is conflicting???

I'm not too sure exactly what the conflict was, but if you view the page source in post view you'll see this bit of JavaScript which controls the images directly above the closing body tag:

Code (Javascript)
Select All
<script language="JavaScript1.2" type="text/javascript">
<!--
	// resize image start
	var resize_time = 2;
	var img_resize_names = new Array ('avatar_img_resize_1','avatar_img_resize_2','avatar_img_resize_3','avatar_img_resize_4','avatar_img_resize_5','avatar_img_resize_6');

	var avatar_img_w    = 65;
	var avatar_img_h    = 0;
	var fix_avatar_size = 0;
	var post_img_w      = 650;
	var post_img_h      = 0;
	var fix_post_size   = 0;
	var attach_img_w    = 650;
	var attach_img_h    = 0;
	var fix_attach_size = 1;
	var signat_img_w    = 0;
	var signat_img_h    = 0;
	var fix_signat_size = 0;

	noimgdir   = 'http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/forum/Templates/Forum/default';
	noimgtitle = 'No image found in 30 seconds! Given up!';

	resize_images();
	// resize image end
// -->
</script>

So basically, it wasn't being read by the browser because it was under your banner code.

Shows you what a fresh set of eyes does..
I had been working almost 24 hours to get that upgrade done and I think I became too tired to see that error.
The images are working correctly now and the cause was as you noted the conflict with the other javascript in the bottom banner code.
Your time and help is very much appreciated. Thanks..

No problem. You're very welcome.

I'm just glad we got there in the end...

Yes I see the whole footer is missing. I disabled part of the banner code because of server resource load and that has caused the footer not to display... Ill correct that and advise....
And I guess the javascipt is conflicting???

Okay, having another look at your code, it seems to have something to do with your bottom banner:

Code
Select All
<!-- Begin AWP PRO 6.5 HTML Code -->
<iframe src="http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/adds/cgi-bin/awpshow.cgi?zone_id=1&refresh=0&keywords=" width="468" height="100" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" style="z-index:1;background-color:transparent;" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" align=center>
  <!script type="text/javascript">
  // <!--
    var rnd=Math.round(Math.random()*1000);
    var ref=escape(window.location.href);
    document.writeln('<!a href="http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/adds/cgi-bin/awpclick.cgi?zid=1&amp;rnd='+rnd+'&amp;ref='+ref+'" target="_blank">\n');
    document.writeln('<!img src="http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/adds/cgi-bin/awpshow.cgi?mode=img&amp;zone_id=1&amp;rnd='+rnd+'" width="468" height="100" border="0" alt="Fish'n'Hunt New Zealand" ismap="ismap" /><!/a>\n');
  // -->
  <!/script>
  <!noscript><!a href="http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/adds/cgi-bin/awpclick.cgi?zid=1" target="_blank"><!img src="http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/adds/cgi-bin/awpshow.cgi?mode=img&zone_id=1" width="468" height="100" border="0" alt="Fish'n'Hunt New Zealand" ismap="ismap" /><!/a><!/noscript>
<!/iframe>
<!-- End AWP PRO 6.5 HTML Code -->

</td>
</tr></table></center>
  <!-- End Banner Code -->
<!/b>

You're missing the YaBB footer and copyright from your page (everything after the banner). I copied and pasted the above code into a test board and the images stopped working for me too.

If you can get your footer to display properly, then you should find that your images will start working...

Sorry, I'm a bit puzzled why it isn't working then. If the JavaScript and settings are in place it should be working - unless something is conflicting with it on your page.

Hopefully someone else has got some sort of idea...

Ok I have established this...
If I copy all of the page source and paste it to a new page and then remove  style="display:none"  and then view it all the images display fine.
So what have I done that is causing the style="display:none"  to either be written to the HTML output or if it is meant to be then what part of the script or javascript changes the images so they can be read......
I just don't understand the program enough.. Smiley and would appreciate some help...

When I look at source code for a page with linked images on I see
<img src="http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/xx83/nicklm_photos/southern%20kaimanawas/Suns..." name="signat_img_resize_2" alt="..." title="..." border="0" style="display:none" />

So I do suspect it is something to do with the java script..

It's usually a JavaScript problem - all images have a 'style="display:none;"' and are then resized with JS. But, I checked your source code and the JS seems to be where it should be - that's why I thought it must be a settings problem.

Just to check, your settings do look something like the attached image?

Is this present in your Variables/Settings.pl file?

Code
Select All
########## MemberPic Settings ##########

$max_avatar_width = 65; # Set maximum pixel width to which the selfselected userpics are
                                                  # resized, 0 disables this limit
$max_avatar_height = 65; # Set maximum pixel height to which the selfselected userpics are
                                                  # resized, 0 disables this limit
$fix_avatar_img_size = 0; # Set to 1 disable the image resize feature and sets the image size to
                                                  # the max_... values. If one of the max_... values is 0 the image is
                                                  # shown in his proportions to the other value. If both are 0 the
                                                  # image is shown at his original size.

Hi,

A quick suggestion that's worth a try...

In Admin Center => Advanced settings - under the 'Images' tab, make sure that you have set values for each of the fields and saved the settings.

Gosh I have the same problem on a large forum and am a bit stumped....  the source code of a page is showing the linked image url ok but not the actual image... or avatars ..basically any linked image...
http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/forum/YaBB.cgi
I have a heavily modified template and have ensured the changes to the header have been made.. have read every help file and forum post ...so a bit stumped.
