No images or avatars after upgrade
Hello, everyone. I've just upgraded from Yabb 2.0 to YABB 2.5 AE. Everything seems to work fine, except that images won't show anymore...meaning that [img] code doesn´t work , and the users' avatars have dissapeared. I've checked paths and the forum's options and everything seems to be ok.

Thanks for the help!

Re: No images or avatars after upgrade
Hi -

A - Do you mean that the images 'attached' to old posts are now shown with a red x? (Image not found)
OR
Do you mean you cannot attach images now? -

You may need to work on the image settings - Forum Settings > Advanced > File Attachments, Images.

B -  Do you mean NO Avatars at all, or no 'user-defined' avatars?  (I don't know what modifications you were running on 2.0)
There is now a subfolder for 'UserAvatars'. (I'm unsure, but I think that 2.0 boards may have mixed the user-defined avatars in with Attachments)  I have a running 2.0 (modded) Forum that is an archive, so I don't work with it much. Undecided)

Good Luck

Re: No images or avatars after upgrade
Hi JonB, thank you for your reply Smiley

I'm referring to the "insert image" YaBBC code . The URLs inserted inside this code don't work anymore, even though the option for YaBBC is on in the board's settings. The images of avatars from external URLs don't work either.

Re: No images or avatars after upgrade
1) Do you have "Display Picture Attachments in Posts?" enabled in Advanced Settings - File Attachments tab.

2) Is the answer "yes", At right, the avatar directory path is displayed (top) and whether the directory exists and has the correct permissions (Yes/No) in Forum Settings - Members tab.

3) Is "Auto-link URLs?" enabled in Forum Settings - Posting tab ?

What /yabb2/Templates/Display.template are you using ? (Version number).
If you want the vertical user info (like you have) you should be using Y2.4 # $Revision: 1.20.2.1 $

Re: No images or avatars after upgrade
Gosh I have the same problem on a large forum and am a bit stumped....  the source code of a page is showing the linked image url ok but not the actual image... or avatars ..basically any linked image...
http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/forum/YaBB.cgi
I have a heavily modified template and have ensured the changes to the header have been made.. have read every help file and forum post ...so a bit stumped.

Re: No images or avatars after upgrade
Hi,

A quick suggestion that's worth a try...

In Admin Center => Advanced settings - under the 'Images' tab, make sure that you have set values for each of the fields and saved the settings.

Re: No images or avatars after upgrade
It's usually a JavaScript problem - all images have a 'style="display:none;"' and are then resized with JS. But, I checked your source code and the JS seems to be where it should be - that's why I thought it must be a settings problem.

Just to check, your settings do look something like the attached image?

Is this present in your Variables/Settings.pl file?

Code Select All
########## MemberPic Settings ##########

$max_avatar_width = 65; # Set maximum pixel width to which the selfselected userpics are

$max_avatar_height = 65; # Set maximum pixel height to which the selfselected userpics are
