Having a devil of a time with sendmail
Hey guys!

I'm having a lot of trouble with sendmail. I think the ONLY thing it works for is registration (both sending e-mails to new users as well as requesting admin approval for new users).

For everything else (e-mail your members, notify of new messages, etc.), it just doesn't work. I've tried messing around with all "send emails using" options as well as the "SMTP Server Authorization" types to no avail.

I use the Stanford University CGI server; there's information about sendmail emulator here: http://itservices.stanford.edu/service/cgi/faq

And there's a sample SMTP script available here: https://itservices.stanford.edu/sites/default/files/2010/03/05/netsmtp.pl_.txt

Right now, I have my sendmail set to: /usr/sbin/sendmail
My SMTP server set to: smtp.stanford.edu
Authorization is off.
Authorization user name/password are blank.

What am I doing wrong? Help is GREATLY appreciated!

Hi
what YaBB Version are you using?

You need set up it in Admin Center => Forum Settings - Members

Allow users to enable email notifications for boards/threads listed in 'My Notifications' when a new message is posted? [x]

Then in User CP => Profile - Option need select this option:

Post and Board Notifications:
Notify me of new Notifications by eMail? [No/Yes]

Re: Having a devil of a time with sendmail
Thanks, Jet Li! That worked perfectly!

I'm in the current version (YaBB 2.5 AE).

One last question: e-mailing member groups still doesn't work. Do you have any idea why? If I e-mail individual users instead that works fine, but e-mailing the entire site (or e-mailing a specific user group) doesn't work at all.

Thanks again!
