Upgrading from YaBB 2.1 to 2.5AE
Transfering files using CuteFTPPro and all going well until I came to the last 6 files - the .pl files and .html. Cute will not let me drag and drop the files to either the queue or remote pane. I can see the arrow pointer with the file outline when I drag but nothing happens when I drop. No Error message comes up.
Is this a problem with the files or with Cute?

Cute ....  These file require an AscII transfer mode, should be able to specify this mode in the transfer mode.  Verify that you have not already transferred.  Using Auto transfer mode will NOT work.

Re: Upgrading from YaBB 2.1 to 2.5AE
I set the file transfer type to ASCII from the file menue.
There is no sign of these files anywhere.
I have re-installed Cute in case there was a glitch there but no success.
Thinking of clearing everything off and downloading a fresh set of YaBB files in case something went wrong with the original download. Bit of a pain in the rear end.
Interesting that the YaBB Quick Start Guide makes no mention of the transfer of the .pl files. They are only refered to when it comes to setting the correct path to perl.

Upload all of the files in ASCII mode from the 'cgi-bin/yabb2' folder into your new folder.

Sorry I missed that.
Was looking at the recommended folder structure which finishes after cgi-bin/yabb2/Variables

Re: Upgrading from YaBB 2.1 to 2.5AE
OK, Have sorted the file transfer problem and completed all CHMODs - I believe correctly - and checked the path to perl.
Now on logging on to the site I get a 404 error!
I tried using # use CGI::Carp qw(fatals to browser) # but nothing came up in the browser.
I suppose it's a path problem but not sure where to go next.

a 404 error is simply a error returned when a file is not found.

PM me your admin login and your forums url.
