Hi - I have had that problem on IIS 7, and not been able to identify the cause (I know that's not terribly helpful)

Unless you have a good reason for using IIS, you might consider installing the XAMPP Apache/Perl/PHP/MySQL stack + other good stuff (version 1.7.3).  I have tested it extensively, and found no holes for YaBB to fall over. (that was NOT true for XAMPP version 1.7.1)

YaBB should work - right out of the box - on it.

I have guides for doing this:

http://bravo.newnetenterprises.com/wordpress/

@elfen - Perl is installed (probably ActiveStates based on the error - it installs as an application handler). Think of it, no Perl = No errors, but no .pl pages served either...

Wink

Sounds to me that non of these systems have PERL installed on them.

Just because you install Windows with IIS, does not mean that you have everything to run a website. IIS just only posts webpages when given the right information and when used alone, can only post static webpages. It lasks Perl, PHP, MySQL, Ruby, and any other webpage processing languages one may need to create live webpages like YaBB's forum pages.

There are several Perl packages for Windows. I use Activatestate. Strawberry Perl is another good one. Both are free for the download. You can goggle them.

Interestingly I have version 2.1 installed on a different web site (same server) and when I try to log on with it, it will not log in, and duplicates the logon screen on it also.

I has to be something about the way the server (folders) are configured.  Is there a certain user that needs read/write to a certain folder?

I am running Yabb 2.5, on a Windows 7 32-bit machine, with IIS 7.5.

Interesting too, each time I try to log on, I am getting an additional logon screen.  So on second try, there are two logon boxes.  Three after the second try.  Etc.

Same error messages though.

It might be useful if we knew what version of YaBB, what version of Windows, and what webserver you were using.

After installing and running Setup.PL for the first time, I am getting the following message.  Any idea of what might be causing it.  P.S. I entered admin as the PW.
