i mean - the buttons - u took the code from where? pozitivke.net and did not tweak it?

I took it from the info on the AddThis website - I just used the same buttons because I thought that was what you wanted. The buttons are easily changed - have a read of the AddThis site for information on things like that.

The only thing you really need to keep in place is the highlighted below, so it bookmarks the actual post:

Code
Select All
<a href="http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php?v=250" addthis:url="$scripturl?num=$viewnum/$counter#$counter" addthis:title="$msub" class="addthis_button_expanded">More</a>

and i  understood u did it on 2.5

I didn't do it in 2.5 - I did it in 2.4 and checked it against the 2.3 code. Smiley

I didn't do it for 2.5 - it won't work with the 2.5 template. I thought you were using 2.3? Should work fine with 2.3...

i noticed only your code for buttons works nicely - is displayed in same line with buttons - if i go and get new code - it jumps down to new line

Sorry, I'm not too sure what you mean?

i tried on fresh 2.5

i kinda found
Quote:
In Sources/Display.pl find:

but is not the same line - looks ok doh

but
Quote:
Then in Templates/default/Display.template find:

i did not find ...
{yabb contactlist}
but, there is a
$contactlist = qq~

and i did find
<yabb contactlist> &nbsp;
in
Quote:
Templates/yabb21/Display.template

and if i chooze the 21 template - i can see the buttons TonguePP

tyvm
testing now ...

can u debug what went wrong with default template?

and
i noticed only your code for buttons works nicely - is displayed in same line with buttons - if i go and get new code - it jumps down to new line

furthermore i realized that addthis accepts only title and url of the site when calling socilas
ofc i would like to pass to them at least portion of the text from post ...
do i make any sense?

anyway - now that i (kinda) know how i will try some more tweaking ...
couse i have seen websites that pass the title and the portion of article to facebook and other socials ... some can even send pictures

Okay. Yep - that helps.

I haven't got a 2.3 board handy, but I'm pretty sure that the edits you need to search for wouldn't have changed.

Bear in mind I have only tested very quickly though and the buttons will appear on 'all' boards.

I've always found it tricky finding the right place to display bookmark buttons in the post area, and they're a little more over to the right than you asked for, but give this a go and see what you think...

In Sources/Display.pl find:

Code (Perl)
Select All
        $posthandelblock =~ s/({|<)yabb quote(}|>)/$template_quote/g;

And add this before:

Code (Perl)
Select All
        $addthispost = qq~
<!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->
<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style" style="float: right; display: inline;">
<a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_email"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_favorites"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_print"></a>
<span class="addthis_separator">|</span>
<a href="http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php?v=250" addthis:url="$scripturl?num=$viewnum/$counter#$counter" addthis:title="$msub" class="addthis_button_expanded">More</a>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript">var addthis_config = {"data_track_clickback":true};</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js"></script>
<!-- AddThis Button END -->
        ~;
        $outblock =~ s/({|<)yabb addthispost(}|>)/$addthispost/g;

Then in Templates/default/Display.template find:

Code
Select All
			{yabb contactlist} &nbsp;

And replace with:

Code
Select All
			{yabb contactlist} &nbsp; {yabb addthispost}

Then in Templates/yabb21/Display.template find:

Code
Select All
			<yabb contactlist> &nbsp;

And replace with:

Code
Select All
			<yabb contactlist> &nbsp; <yabb addthispost>

Hope that's of some help to you...

Of cause... Can you tell me 'exactly' what you want though please. Do you want a Facebook 'Like' button, AddThis, or something else?

Can you give me a screenshot with an arrow pointing to where you want it to be displayed too please?

I sort of know what you mean, but if you can 'show' me exactly where you want it and what you want, I'll try my best to help you.

If you've seen it being used elsewhere, then post a link to the website that you have seen it on, so I can see what you mean...

Hi,

Have a look at this for using AddThis with YaBB:

http://www.carsten-dalgaard.dk/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1292008138

I can't find a decent place to put the button for individual posts though, so it's just for bookmarking topics I'm afraid...

Yes .. see attachment from screenshot of users profile.  Entering the info, would place a button under every message and within the users profile.

huh
i c
this is not what im looking for
i want to display few buttons that enable ppl to like, share or tweet (... or similar) one particular post to their friends
something like they offer
http://www.addthis.com/
but integrated in yabb and aware of what a post is ...
(so it would not end up in sharing url (the whole page) or something similar)
