Help! Can't enter to the Admin panel after 2.5 up
Hi guys, I really need your help. I just upgraded to 2.5, and somehow I don't have the uppermost menu, the one that has the Home/Help/Seacrh/Members/UserCP/Admin. The logo also says YaBB 2.3, don't know why. I really wanted to reopen the forum today, could you help?

Thanks!

Hi,

Do you mean that the entire menu is missing or just the 'Admin' tab? If the entire menu is missing, can you give me a link to your forum please? If you don't want to post it publicly then you can PM it to me.

This is just because the upgrade package only includes new images that have been added since older versions - the new logo isn't included in the upgrade package, so that's nothing to worry about.

Okay, open up Variables/Settings.pl in a text editor and you should have something that looks like this:

Code Select All
########## Advanced Tabs ##########

@AdvancedTabs = ("home","help","search","ml","admin","revalidatesession","login","register","guestpm","mycenter","logout"); # Advanced Tabs order and infos

Is it there?

Wait, the file is there, I read Sources/ and not Variables/, but the piece of code is not in the file, should I add it?

Yeah, sorry about that - I typed the wrong directory and modified my post. Embarrassed

Yep. Add it after this (if this is present):

Code Select All
########## Error Logger ##########

$elmax = 50; # Max number of log entries before rotation
$elenable = 1; # allow for error logging
$elrotate = 1; # Allow for log rotation

No, the error logger is not there either, why is that? maybe the file is missing other important things?

I see you have the tab menu working now anyway?

I'm not 100% sure how the upgrade process works to be honest, but now that you can enter the Admin Center, go into there and save all of the settings - this should write all of the variables to Settings.pl...

Perfect, yes, I just put the code at the end of the file, to see if it worked. Thank you very much.

Re: Help! Can't enter to the Admin panel after 2.5 up
Derek, sorry to keep on using your time, but the problem is not yet solved. I can't enter the Admin panel. It asks me for my password over and over again. And now it says ALERT!! Form Spoofing Detected coming from IP address: 65.49.2.17

I just realized that I messed up when doing the update as I should have done this: "Set your Browser on the "Forum Settings" page and don't close this window  You need it later without logging in again!!!"
As it said in the guidelines, but somehow I missed it and now I don't really know what to do. Do you think you can help me?

Thanks!
Martin

Re: Help! Can't enter to the Admin panel after 2.5 up
I tried but it asks me for my password again and when I do, it sends me back to my forum, not the Admin panel Sad

Okay, sorry to say this then, but it might be best if you start the process all over again - it shouldn't take long and will hopefully work out okay this time. I think that's actually going to be the easiest thing to do...
