How Close to Prime Time is YaBB 3?

Hey guys -

How close are we to prime time here?  I'm liking a lot of the slick features; rounded corners, pop up posting box.  Great job guys.  Someone needs to revamp the button row on the posting page; it looks ancient.  The email icon is the one from Outlook Express. Smiley

Is that something that can be customized? I'd like to simplify it to only one row; no one on my board is using superscripts or timestamps, etc.

Thanks, and good work!
Zach

That's and many more things are in the works, that is why it is in Beta. Time ?  Looking at summer, possibly YaBB's Anniversary - 11th Year !
You will see almost everything before then, here we run the "Next Edition"

Since this is an open source project, you can at any time take a look at the work currently been done and try out the latest development code. Of cause, don't expect anything rock solid yet Wink

To anyone rushing to use Y3, be aware it is still in Beta.  We do NOT recommend for production use (full online daily forum) as of yet.
 Also NOTE:
# YaBB now requires the Perl "Encode" module to be installed
# YaBB now requires Perl 5.8.1 or above because Perl only fully supports UTF-8 since that version
# all Language and Help files will have to be UTF-8 encoded from now on.
To use the sql database feature now incorporated in Y3 your Host server must support sql.

So users still on "old" servers not updated to at least Perl 5.8.1 should NOT attempt to try running Y3.  Users using a specific language other than English or UTF8 should NOT attempt conversion to Y3  (not implemented as of yet)

   Y3 is "Beta"
