500 error when trying to ban members

I was on one of my boards, acting as an admin, banning a member I was having trouble with.  I changed the entry under IP to:  *@kimsufi.com (it previously was @kimsufi.com) and now I'm getting a 500, internal server error on my main YaBB.pl page.

I've checked the permissions on all of the main files in the cgi-bin directory and none of them have been changed recently.  I've checked the permissions on the "sources", "admin", and "variables" directories and don't see anyting out of the ordinary.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why the 500 error after trying to to ban an IP?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

DJ

I was eventually able to get this error
Quote:
Untrapped Error : Quantifier follows nothing in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/* <-- HERE @kimsufi.com/ at ./Sources/Security.pl line 146.

Found the entry in the Settings.pl file under the $email_banlist setting.  Removed the offending text and it's back to normal.

Maybe someone else will find this helpful someday?

First *& ? (file wildcards) are never allowed within the Guardian !  Second entries within IP Bannin MUST be IP's !
