Just to come back to finish the thread so when other people having the same problem, they will know what went wrong.

So, I have deleted all the files, and re-uploaded all the files, reset all the path, I think I might get some path wrong, so I don't see the UI.

But now is working. !! Smiley

Thanks for your help!

The above is what you see when you enter Path Settings in the Admin Center ?????  It shouldn't !  It should look like those images in the links to the Codex posts.

During the running of Setup.pl cook.txt is written, then erased (this is the cookie text that will be written to users computers when the register on your forum. The cookie info is stored in Settings.pl which is also stored in the yabb2/Variables folder.
Code
Select All
$mbname = "Perl\ YaBB\ 2\.5\.1\ Forum"; # The name of your YaBB forum
$forumstart = "08\/26\/10\ at\ 17\:56\:31"; # The start date of your YaBB Forum
$Cookie_Length = 1; # Default minutes to set login cookies to stay for
$cookieusername = "Y2User\-68530"; # Name of the username cookie
$cookiepassword = "Y2Pass\-68530"; # Name of the password cookie
$cookiesession_name = "Y2Sess\-68530"; # Name of the Session cookie

$regtype = 0

  Yours will be slightly different.
CHMODs must be correct to allow the file to be written to the yabb2/Variables folder, modified and deleted.  So As the Quick-Guide specifies that ALL folders must be a CHMOD of at least 755.  Verify and run Setup again.

Hi~

Need a little help here please, trying to install YaBB forum, and got an error says 'Unable to open ./Variables/cook.txt: Permission denied', I've search the whole folder and couldn't find the cook.txt file excepted in few lines in the Setup.pl file.

Found this (links in the following post) saying cook.txt has been deleted at the end of the Setup.

But it's not mentioned on the setup instruction to modify the Setup.pl except the Perl path.

So......do I remove the lines where says ****cook.txt**** from the Setup.pl or?

Thanks in advance. Smiley
