A couple of issues

Just started the Board and I see I cannot post any links as of yet, had to start the message over again.

I changed my logo and wanted to center it.  I followed the codex for centering and still can't get it in the middle. Using align="center"  I don't think I can provide the code on this first post.

Also, weird, I cannot change the drop down for the forum start date and it take effect after I save it.  It still shows January 1, 2009, no matter what I change it to and save.

Thanks

I am using version 2.3.1 and I inserted code in the highlighted areas;

<table width="100%" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" class="menutop">
     <tr>
           <td class="small" align="left" valign="middle" width="2%" height="23">&nbsp;</td>
           <td class="small" align="left" valign="middle" width="48%" height="23"><span class="ie6alpha">{yabb time}</span></td>
           <td class="small" align="right" valign="middle" width="48%" height="23">{yabb langChooser}</td>
           <td class="small" align="left" valign="middle" width="2%" height="23">&nbsp;</td>
     </tr>
</table>
<table class="windowbg2" width="100%" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0" border="0">
     <tr>
           <td align="left" valign="top" width="1%" height="40">&nbsp;</td>
           <td align="left" valign="middle" height="40">{yabb uname}<br />{yabb im}{yabb admin_alert}</td>
           <td align="center" valign="middle" width="460" height="100" rowspan="2"><img src="{yabb images}/yabblogo.png" alt="" title="Message Board for Conservatives" border="0" /></a></td>
     </tr>
     <tr>
           <td align="left" valign="top" width="1%" height="60">&nbsp;</td>
           <td class="small" align="left" valign="top" height="60">{yabb news}</td>
     </tr>
</table>

I said January 1, 2009 but in the Forum Settings-Forum Start Date it is Jan 1 2000.

The forum statistics at the bottom of the board itself shows most users ever online was 1 Jan 12th 2009.

I want it to show start date of Aug 12 2011

If you want your logo centered, your going to have to redo the table used for layout .. see the attachment below (the red lines are the table cells in the header)

In Admin Center - Forum Settings - General Menu Tab
"Forum Start Date" can be changed to anything you desire ... BUT warning, the date must not be after the Admin Registering Date, Or the Admin will become an ex-member.
  Note: If the new date will not save ...then your CHMODs on the folders and files are NOT correct.

Thanks Captain John for the reply;

The table change I am going to forgo (I hate tables and afraid I will really mess it up)   Grin

The forum start date is puzzling to me, it is simple but I cannot change it anything.

I went to Templates/Forum/default and the permission is already 755 and I changed it to 777 with no help.  Backed up the Forum and it was at 755 also, and I changed it to 777 and it did nothing.  Kind of wierd.

You reckon I just need to re-install?

The variables folder is at 755 also.  On that general tab, everything works and saves except the Forum Start Date, isn't that peculiar in itself?

Could the Admin start date effect something if I had listed it first maybe?  I don't remember doing that, but I was trying to make the forum start date Aug 12, 2011 1730 and I have the Admin in as Aug 12, 2011 1745?

Follow up to above message;

I just happened to go into the Variables folder and for some reason looked at the Settings.pl file and low and behold there is the forum start date that I want displayed here;

$mbname = "Conservatives\ Townhall\ Meeting";                         # The name of your YaBB forum
$forumstart = "08\/12\/11\ at\ 17\:30\:";                             # The start date of your YaBB Forum
$Cookie_Length = 1;                                                   # Default minutes to set login cookies to stay for
$cookieusername = "Y2User\-1325";                                     # Name of the username cookie
$cookiepassword = "Y2Pass\-1325";                                     # Name of the password cookie
$cookiesession_name = "Y2Sess\-1325";                                 # Name of the Session cookie

Strange huh?  Thats the exact date I have entered for the forum start date, but on the General Tab it still shows Jan 1, 2000.  And the forum statistics still reflect Jan 12, 2009.

There is no place to enter seconds in the general tab form for forum start date that I can see.

Wonders never cease, that did it.  When I first read it I said how in the world is doing that going to fix my problem and I know it was simple to do, but that has taken care of the forum start date and it does show it in the general tab now.  Why did I have to go into the Settings.pl file in the first place would be the question.....but no matter it is done.

The most members on still shows 2009 but hopefully as I get members that will go away.

Thanks Captain John and have a terrific day!

If none of the members are registered before the Forum start date (that would make them ex-members) try and run the Maintenance Functions from top to bottom in Admin Center.

Could have been just a glitch with your server at the moment you clicked Save for Forum Settings and didn't save all ...

Your Welcome ...
