Putting 'most recent posts' on an html page

Okay. what I'd like to do is extract some of the information in the top section of the forum stats block and add it to a more or less static webpage. (SSI is enabled so the page in question can and does insert perl generated data into the page.)

Apparently this is called a CMS bridge?

Any ideas?

Answering my own posts is sometimes a good sign. áRoll Eyes
I'm kinda sorta gaining on it: http://www.yabbforum.com/community/YaBB.pl?num=1199827066/6#6

Now onto tracing back the functions called in this:
Code
Select All
<tr>
	<td class="windowbg" style="text-align:center; vertical-align:middle; width:5%">
		<img src="$imagesdir/info.gif" alt="" />
	</td>
	<td class="windowbg2" style="text-align:center; vertical-align:top">
<div class="small" style="float: left; width: 59%; text-align: left;">
			$boardindex_txt{'489'} <b>{yabb totalmessages} $boardindex_txt{'21'}</b> $boardindex_txt{'490'} <b>{yabb totaltopics} $boardindex_txt{'330'}</b>.<br />
			{yabb lastpostlink} {yabb lastpostdate}
			{yabb recentposts}
		</div>
		<div class="small" style="float: left; width: 40%; text-align: left;">
			$boardindex_txt{'487'} {yabb membercount} $boardindex_txt{'488'}.<br />
			{yabb latestmember}
			{yabb ims}
		</div>
	</td>
</tr>

to create a separate separate and working script. Sad
