Protecting FTP folders with YaBB

Running on a Linux CentOS 5.7 and YaBB 2.5 AE.

What I want to do is have several FTP folder and have them setup so only those in their own boards can only access them when they are active members.

How can I do this via an .htaccess file since YaBB uses a flat file structure for its memberships?

Thanks!

I guess the resounding silence on this one from the forum and from YaBB means it is not at all possible. No API to do a user look up, no means to get the login to popup. Bummer

There is a login-API but I'm not sure how that would work with protecting an FTP directory or integrate with htaccess - but I'm sure there is a way.

Maybe the thing to do is to protect those particular FTP folders with an assigned password that's only available to those members whom you choose to access those respective folders.

Or how about creating a 2nd YaBB forum that links up with your main forum so that only those chosen members can access it?

If there's a will, there's a way. Just thinking aloudWink

Not possible for one.

Two - you give an outside user to create their own forums with and they will put up any crap in that ftp folder to do anything but YaBB.

Three - the only thing that comes close to this is YaBB SE. I've looked at the code years ago to port YaBB 2.11 on it. Its doable. Just have not been able to do it for the desire and money is not there for me.
