Board Clock Time Wrong

Hi Yabb users, we LOVE this forum after using phpbb for years. Very clean user friendly board for sure so far.

So after a quick install we have run into an issue with the board time not taking our adjusted time zone.

It shows our local board time 7 hours ahead and when I'm logged in as admin it shows time as +10. Can anyone explain why this might be?

Except for members who live in your time zone, your forum will pretty much always have two different time zones. One time zone when you're not logged in, and another time zone after you've logged into your forum.

The 1st time zone will be what you set it at, and that can be any time zone you wish. In our forum, for instance, our server is in Dallas, so the default time is for Dallas. However, because I'm in Los Angeles, I set the default time for my time zone.

The 2nd time zone will be chosen by each respective member based on where they live.

In your case, your current default setting is evidently 7 hours ahead of your local time, which probably means your server is located 7 hours ahead of where you live.

But when you sign in as the admin, your personal settings are evidently adjusted 3 hours ahead of your forum's default time, which is why as the admin you are 10 hours ahead of your local time.

Make sense?  Smiley

The good news is that you can fix this as you wish, and so too can any of your members.

Edited:
Here in YaBB's community support forum it seems that the default time is set for England, which I think is where the server they're on is located. However, the time that shows for me is local because I made the correct edits in my CP.
