That's the file that fixes the bug in the group mailing script - but it looks like you have other issues as well.  Check the 'detailed version' screen in the Admin center and make sure all the source and admin files belong to 2.5.

It's possible that not all the 2.1 files got replaced in the process of upgrading. (I know that's happened to other people.) Specifically look at Admin.pl and MailMembers.pl, and Sources/Subs.pl

Going into maintenance mode is normal as the server is busy doing the mailing.

I don't know if more info helps at this point, but instead of using sendmail, I tried using SMTP. Same results.

So manually, I cut the line:

Code (HTML)
Select All
		(undef, $memrealname, $mememail, $memposition, $memposts, $memaddgrp, undef) = split(/\|/, $memberinf{$user}, 7);

And in its place posted:

Code (HTML)
Select All
		($memrealname, $mememail, $memposition, $memposts, $memaddgrp) = split(/\|/, $memberinf{$user});

And got the same results.

Thank you. I tried uploading the .pl file given in the link, and that didn't help. Was that what I was supposed to do? I'll go re-read the thread again.

error when sending group email

I recently helped someone upgrade from 2.1 to 2.5. I got most of the issues worked out, but there are two left. The biggest one is the inability to email members. After much plugging away, I think I'm getting close. Now, when I send a group email, the server takes some time like it's sending email, and then I get the following error:

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

Invalid Response error was encountered while trying to process the request:

   POST /cgi-bin/yabb2/AdminIndex.pl?action=mailmultimembers; HTTP/1.1

The host looked in their logs, and they can see that mail was sent to many addresses, but they get no error per se.

My issue is that every time I send mail, in addition to the error, the board goes into maintenance mode. And, I don't know how many members got the message.

I've tried emailing the "email groups" method, and also tried the "email all members" option. I get the error with both.

Thanks for any input you can provide.
