'allowed to start topic' bug

I have created extra member groups to ban members from specific boards (not the whole forum). It worked fine when I was on 2.2.1. Now I can disallow topic replies, but I cannot disallow starting of new topics in the board. I have the member group 'unselected' in appropriate place. So I had a member who could start new topics but not reply (the problem being that he could start new topics when he should have been banned completely).

Hi freediver,

By any chance is that member in an additional member group which is allowed to start new topics? Permissions of all member groups which a member is in will be checked, so if they are in a another group with permission to start topics, then your banned group won't override it. That's the only way I can reproduce what you are experiencing anyway...
