Perpetual Maintenance Mode
It's been since yabb 2.1 or so since my board has been in use. So I did a clean install of yabb 2.5. Everything loaded great. Got to the log in screen for admin, logged in, and now no matter what it keeps asking me to verify. I can't get to the user cp or admin to do anything else?

I am using firefox. I did try on Internet Explorer and Google chrome as well.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks

Re: Perpetual Maintenance Mode
Oh I think I know what you may be in trouble with

Its asking you to verify your credentials?

Did you have a 'forever' login for the Admin on your old board???

Re: Perpetual Maintenance Mode
I am sorry. Poor choice of words. The screen says Good Evening or Good Morning Administrator. However, any tab I want to click on, in the box below is says the site is in Maintenance Mode. When I try to log in, it just brings back the log in again.

Re: Perpetual Maintenance Mode
No, I completely deleted the old files of yabb 2 and public html from the server and uploaded and chmod the new files, but I think something must still be sticking around. Would it help if I sent you a link through PM to the site?

Sorry to be such a newb.

Re: Perpetual Maintenance Mode
OK - "No Dice" - not a cookie issue, as I had the same problem.

At the moment - we don't know how it got in Maintenance Mode, but we DO know the fix - DL and Edit the Settings.pl file, and delete maintenance.lock if it exists.

Good Luck

Re: Perpetual Maintenance Mode
I'll hang a round and see if that works - Dandello (who is/was about a minute ago) is also quite expert on YaBB

Re: Perpetual Maintenance Mode
Doesn't YaBB automagically go into maintenance mode when it doesn't have enough space?

Even having an old Cookie on your machine shouldn't lock out the admin as the new install probably has a new Cookie ID.

Re: Perpetual Maintenance Mode
Hi there, ok, reset the setting in setting.pl back to 0 for maintenance mode. Not a problem now with that issue. I am having another issue now with STAYING logged in. It keeps asking me to update session. It has something to do with my IP that I logged in with changing.

Re: Perpetual Maintenance Mode
I don't think so - about going into Maintenance on no space.

It isn't a cookie issue.  I think there are times when the install does not run full course, the Maintenance Lock is never released.

It would be in Setup.pl   Just a 'hmmmmm - I guess'

Re: Perpetual Maintenance Mode
Are you using the 'logout'?

If not - logout, then clear your cache and cookies and try again
