also ment to add that CHMOD is prefixed locked and must say this is the first host i have seen do this

Having to purchase a domain name through them before you can use their hosting is a bit much. Then the unlimited bandwidth with the warning about usage is the icing on the cake.

A decent host and follow the quick-guide step by step  Smiley

Edit to add: only pay for a month initially, at least until your sure about the host

Re: Unfriendly-to-Perl
I'm not sure I even caught which hosting serve Ludek is using - But the limitations on the cgi-bin is very worrying.

But at least things are looking up. Now for some anti-spam mods to help keep it up and running.  Wink

Re: Unfriendly-to-Perl
Came across a host I used several years ago. Impressed by the speed of their customers page loads I signed up.

I thought the reason I left was because they closed their forums, then it came back to me.

Installed my YaBB backup and it would not run, raised a ticket and got the following response.

Response 1) Hi,
Looking at the servers error log for some reason this script isn't looking within your account space which is why it is generating the 404 error.

I would strongly advise looking at a PHP based forum rather than the CGI/Perl based forum as they are less load intensive on the servers.
Regards  Sad

Response 2) Hi,
I've found the issue with this, it looks like your account had created without CGI privilages which was preventing this from running correctly. I have fixed this though would still advise moving to a PHP/MySQL based forum.
Regards  Cheesy
