Street áArtist...new stuff á

Great áCrevase Edgar Mueller. áHard work: Together áwith up to five assistants,
Mueller painted all day long from ásunrise to sunset. áThe picture appeared on áthe á
East áPier in Dun Laoghaire , Ireland , as part of the town's áFestival of World Cultures á

He áspent five days, working 12 hours a day, to create the á250 square metre image of the ácrevasse, which, viewed áfrom the correct angle, appears to be 3D. He then ápersuaded passers-by to ácomplete the illusion by pretending the ágaping hole was real.
'I wanted to play with ápositives and negatives to encourage people to think átwice about everything. áThey see,' he ásaid. á'It was a very scary scene, but when people ásaw it they had great fun playing áon it and pretending to fall into the áearth. á'I like to think that later, when they áreturned home, they might reflect more on áwhat a frightening scenario it was and say, "Wow, that áwas actually pretty áscary"..' á

Mueller, who has previously ápainted a giant waterfall in Canada , said he was áinspired by the British 'Pavement á
áPicasso' Julian áBeever, whose dramatic but more gentle 3D street images áhave featured in the Daily áMail á

This águy is amazing áno matter how áyou look at it! á
