You'll need to go in via FTP or through the file manager on your host and hand edit your ./Variable/Settings.pl file.

Near the end of the file are three variables: $ip_banlist, $email_banlist, and $user_banlist

The problem is likely to be with $ip_banlist - either your IP address got put in there (very possible if you're using the StopFourmSpam mod or if you managed to trip a Guardian security protocol) or an IP with an asterisk or other illegal character got in the list. The easiest way to deal with this is to simply set $ip_banlist to ""; (
Code Select All
$ip_banlist="";

Check the $email_banlist as well. This is another spot  where it's possible an illegal character got in. Clear that out as well.

If that doesn't do it, you may have Guardian set to write to the .htaccess file - if that's what's happened, that will need to be edited as well.

If THAT doesn't do it - check with your host. You may have inadvertently triggered a security protocol on a level you can't edit and they'll have to 'whitelist' your IP for you.

You would have to download the .htaccess file that is located in the cgi-bin/YaBB2/ directory and edit it.

After you edit it, re-upload it to the same directory.
