If that file that you think is a movie clip has an extension of .mod then that is the file that you need. Paste it into the 2.5.2 folder and install it.

I just downloaded it and the file is in there. The file name is StopForumSpam_Mod_V0_6_252.mod

If you want to open and read the file then you need a good text editor like editplus or notepad++.

You have YaBB 2.5.2.

Delete the 'StopForumSpam_Mod_V0_6.mod' file and paste the StopForumSpam_Mod_V0_6_252.mod' into the \mods\2.5.2 folder and then install it.

You are currently trying to install the mod for 2.5AE. this is why you are getting errors.

Just use the one with 252 in the file name. Ignore the "__MACOSX" folder if you are using a windows PC.

i have been trying to do this. what is the mod file EXACTLY?

The mod file is the file that you download from boardmod.org. It may be titled something like "Antispam_Question_V0_2.mod".

dave1111 wrote on Jan 11th, 2013 at 12:58pm:
I do not get the
step 1: OK
Step 2: OK
screens........

all I get are errors

The steps will show which steps have failed to work. If any fail, then no files will be modified.

If you are getting errors then the mod may not be compatible with your version of YaBB. You will want the "StopForumSpam_Mod_V0_6_252.zip" in the case where you are installing the stop forum spam mod. It can be downloaded here.

Take note the 252 in the file name, since the other file on that page is for 2.5AE.

Dandello you said to me yesterday..........
"For the other part - if you've upgraded to 2.5.2 and are using a copy of your old Settings.pl, all you have to do is log into your Admin Center, go through and make sure things look right and then hit Save. YaBB will have read all the settings and will go through the process of updating your Settings.pl and adding the new 2.5.2 settings to it."

please talk to me like I am a 5 year old.

Are you sa ing I am supposed to go through every single setting in every single category such as ..........

Forum configruation:
       Forum settings
        advanced settings
        Path seetttings

an all the sub categories within those as well such as

forum settings:
     general
      posting
     members etc?

and then click save on each one?

I do not have any idea what I am supposed to do
