500 Error

I'm upgrading from Yabb 2.4 to 2.5.2 but as soon as I try to edit anything on the forum it displays a 500 error which then shows up on every forum page I try to access. I've followed what it said on the Yabb Codex page to get more information about the error and the following is displayed:

Software error:

Quantifier follows nothing in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/* <-- HERE @gmail.com/ at ./Sources/Security.pl line 147.

Any idea what the problem is and how to resolve it?

Thanks
Matt

Hi,

Open up Variables/Settings.pl in a text editor and look for:

Code (Perl)
Select All
$email_banlist = "";

See if you have "*@gmail.com" (or something similar) stored there - if you have, then remove it. Regex (e.g. '*') isn't allowed when banning emails.
