You're right, I'm not seeing it. I think there is a problem with that folder though I can view it no problem.

I'm going to download it now so PM me the login. Do you just need the cgi-bin that contains the YABB gold and also the Yabb2 that I just installed.

Or do you need the html files also?

cool it is what i was thinking it is a user permissions problem your main ftp user account don't look to be setup for your website in the way that it should be and yes a full copy of the full forum this is what is in cgi-bin and also all html files for it as well I will just setup login info and pm you them just now for you.

YaBB install help video
1. what yabb forum are you running and the url
2. describe in as much detail as you can what happens and also post screenshots if you can
3. please be patient we live in different time zones and have other commitments but we will help you
as bill and ted say (Be excellent to each other)

Not sure I follow you. You want me to download a copy from Dreamhost and then upload it to your site? Can't I just copy directly to you or can't you just copy it yourself? I just duplicated the folder you were having problems with so you will find that there also. I just put a date after it.

OK the permissions on that folder are 755. Is that correct? I tried to duplicate it but for some reason it will not. I can open it and see 8691 messages of type .mail .txt and .data. I check a few at random and they seem to all be 666.

If I can change something to fix that, let me know what I should do.

ok cool can you download a full copy of the forum when you have this i will give you ftp login info to send me a copy then i can start work on it for you as for me and the forum not seeing what's in the dir i think it is user permissions problems.

Hi xnoddyx, I was on page 2 of this thread and didn't see your reply until now  Shocked

I will duplicate that folder so you can mess with it better and hopefully open it. I will check the permissions also. Doing it right now…

No I don't have a backup  Why can't you get into it?

ah ok it is always good to have a backup before any work as to why i can't get into Messages it may be that the server is the directory owner for that it may also be that another ftp user owns the directory or the server is having a problem with that directory if you can try and see if your ftp account will let you get in the Messages directory and let you make a copy of them.

First I didn't copy them because it seemed the easier way was to leave them where they were at since they were on the same server and just point to it's path. That didn't seem to work because I probably didn't specify the path correctly. So now I just copied the old files to members, boards, messages and the one file in variables it says to convert. Then I tried specifying the path in different ways but nothing worked.

The files are in /vivendodaluz.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Convert

I tried:

./Convert
/Convert
/vivendodaluz.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Convert
/home/storrence/vivendodaluz.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Convert

always I get the same error of no such file or directory. Even though the files are in the folders in the Convert folder.
