now using Yabb 2.5.2, got a user/member complaining that he got a message "I have just tried to access the web board and received this notice:

“Access denied. Your IP address [xxx.169.118.7] is blacklisted. If you feel this is in error please contact your hosting providers abuse department.”

but his ip is NOT listed in the admin center's Banned IP list?

what could be causing this?

when you say this was this in admin > Security Center > The Guardian ™ > and look at the list here (Enter IP addresses or (partial) domain names you want blocked on server level?)

also look at admin > Member Controls > Ban Members > and check the top list (IP banning: (e.g. 192.168.12.213 or 128.0.) - one entry per line)

hope this is of help to you if not post back  Smiley

Thanks - there are NO ip addresses listed in the "Security Center > The Guardian ™ >" area, and while there are some ip addresses in the > Member Controls > Ban Members > area, NONE of these ip addresses are same as his message?  So why would he be getting his error message?  Is there somewhere else that i can look for a clue?

thanks for helping.

The warning your member is getting is not a YaBB warning. 'Blacklisted' is not a term used in YaBB. Check with your host and see if he's listed in their security bans. (Also, if he's been banned through YaBB you'll see his attempts to log in in the error log.)

As for checking to see if a particular IP address has been blacklisted, you can check here at this address.

Your own IP address should automatically appear in the text box provided, so just replace it with the IP address you want to check, and then click the "Check Blacklists" icon.

Morning, noon, or night, have a great one!
