Internet Explorer IE 10

I just updated to Internet Explorer 10 and now in the new version the red blinking dots indicating not read threads are continuing blinking even after the thread has been read. The same thing goes for the blue markers indicating not read topics. I can live with it but the older system was nice to have.

Windows 7 Professional, Internet Explorer 10.0.9200.16576

Is anyone else having this issue.
Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony

Have you changed anything on the forum recently??

I just logged on and the red blinking indicator for all new posts is not showing. They are all blue.

Hi Derek,
No changes have been made since the upgrade. When I go back to IE 9, the issue does not exist. I have also tried Google Chrome and Firefox and no issue.

I had a look and it all looks ok to me see video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-7h4XupGhQ

you can try Clear Your Browser's Cache and see if that helps http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache
or you can do a Disk Cleanup to remove all temporary files also if that don't help you can also try a full reset of internet explorer.

Quite some time back.  Maybe back a few versions of YaBB this issue came up and I think it was Jeff Mann (Jet Li)  gave a fix to change in Advanced Settings the "Number of days after a post is made that it will no longer show as "new" in either the Board view or Message view." to 9999

I changed that setting I would say before you looked at it and it seemed to fix the problem.

Maybe something for the team to look at Smiley

Which YaBB version? - There was a little bug in older versions that wouldn't properly recognize MSIE10

See: http://www.carsten-dalgaard.dk/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1353500387

If you only have one solution to a problem you're not trying hard enough!

Got a message from the folks over at Tony's forum and all good now.

I think that fix was way back in 2.3 yet for some reason it resurfaced on 2.5.2

When I first logged into the forum (I am an admin still as I helped him set the forum up)  there were no new posts showing for me in Firefox and Safari.  I haven't logged on for several months.

Going through advanced settings I noticed that "Number of days after a post is made that it will no longer show as "new" in either the Board view or Message view." was set at 90 and I reset it to 9999 as I recalled it from the fix.

Back to Board Index and all good again.  I cleared the Mark all posts as read then someone made a post and it showed as new.

Not sure of anything other than that.

Looking at a thread on the forum this may not have only been confined to IE10.

I just find it strange that you and tony had the problems but when i was having a look on a test user ac as you see in the video before the fix you posted I did not have the problem of after the thread/post has been read that the post indicator was also read but tony was still getting new post indicator  Huh
