Sending PM to user from Moderator if PM is turned off for users.

Hi there.

We have a situation where we don't want standard users to be able to PM each other on our forum so we have it set that only mods, global mods, and admins have access to PM.

However there may be occasion when a moderator would need to contact a standard user via PM e.g. if a user had used the Alert Moderator function on a post and the moderator wished to discuss the problem with the user - the problem being that the moderator recieves the PM Alert, but if sends a reply, the standard user can't see it because they don't have PMs.

Any way of making so that standard users can recieve PMs from mods, global mods, admins but not from standard users?

Thanks

I don't see a way, currently, for making that happen. And I don't see a 2.5 mod for it either. You could have your moderators simply e-mail the person. And you could put in a request for a mod over at BoardMod

If you only have one solution to a problem you're not trying hard enough!
