Is there a way to prevent periods in a user's name?

Hi Ron,

Have you got the Users Today mod installed by any chance?

Okay, there seems to be an issue with that mod - take a look in Variables/usertoday.txt for the usernames which don't exist, but I'm afraid my advice would be to disable Users Today.

Thank Derek

Log looks pretty clean. Is there a way to temporarily disable Users Today to see if this is the problem? I couldn't find a check box.

There are no actions to perform.
Admin Center => BoardMod Mods => Users Today Settings

Check:

Quote:
Use only the Admin/Statistical Options?
(Users Today Block will not show up in the Board Index. Your settings for other choices in this area will be cleared)

Unable to open ./Members/.220.24.pre

What happens if you turn off Encrypt User IDs in the Admin->Security Settings? In the most recent examples the file names have periods in them. I don't think that's allowed in 2.5+

If you only have one solution to a problem you're not trying hard enough!

Lets see if that works Dandello, thanks

This morning I noticed the Variables/errorlog.txt was corrupt. Is this somehow a connected problem?

It seems a little different. My error log just has many empty spaces and lines knocking the format out of whack

Edited:
I received this form a member
Quote:
I found a work-around by using the "forum jump" box at bottom right on the pages. But, after several attempts from different locations within the WR I still could not access the home screen by clicking on the tab.

I think he is saying that the problem only effects the main forum page and not the other pages as he goes through each board.

I'll test this out at the next opportunity
