Re: Verbose: No such file or directory
I'm still wondering a bit about server space. 'Resources" usually just means CPU and memory usage.

And you can down load the newest version of 2.5.2 (2.5.22) Here

The bug fixes has already been installed.

Not sure how YaMMs will interact with things - make sure you back up your membership files and install YaMMs before letting anybody onto the new installation.

if I can get some free time and if you have not started on it I will setup a test 2.5.2

I already started. Right now I'm in the process on coping then moving directories to a test site. I'm sure I'll have some questions down the road.

I was just averaging everything, these are the current stats from my cPanel

6,337.76/40,000 MB used/allotted drive space
32,493.48/400,000 MB used/allotted bandwidth

CPU Usage      35% / 100%
Memory Usage      25K / 1.0G
Entry Processes      4 / 45

Re: Verbose: No such file or directory
Dumb question - are these errors showing up in your RegistrationLog or just in your error log? If it's just in your error log, it could well be spammers trying to 'validate' their bogus registration directly by putting bad info into a query string. This is one of the reasons to make sure that registrations only come from your form in your domain.

Re: Verbose: No such file or directory
The forum locks up and displays the error. Then I create the file using the same name as displayed in the error such as "12.345.pre" and place it in the members directory and we gain access to the forum again. On bad days I've had to do this 8-9 times a day. I also have two others with admin rights and when they see the error they register and approve a user then the problem clears up. (they then delete the user)

I see an entry in the error log when the error occurs and the members that tried to access the forum. There have been a few times when a member gets the error and I don't.

There have been a couple times when the registration log was corrupt, but that hasn't happen for a few days.

Since yesterday I have everything unchecked in the Referral Security

Re: Verbose: No such file or directory
I guess I should have said the boards are not accessible, I can get into the admin section, User CP and view the members list by using the tabs.

This is a screen shot from earlier this month

Re: Verbose: No such file or directory
What I'm now trying to get my head around is why, when you're already logged in, it's even trying to access a .pre file.

Edited:
I know you have YaMMs loaded - what other mods are loaded?

Re: Verbose: No such file or directory
None of those mods should be trying to call a .pre file. What my best guess is as to what's  happening, Load.pl is trying to load information from a *.pre file despite the fact that you are logged in and your information should already be loaded. This indicates to me that something has corrupted the LoadUser subroutine in Load.pl

And from what I can tell, that subroutine is also the only place that particular error call can even be called.

What should be happening: Yabb gets login information or reads the user cookie, checks the inputted name against the memberinfo.txt file to make sure it's actually a user name, then looks for the *.vars file, then the *.pre file and then the *.wait file to find the user info.

Um - just had a brainstorm. Check the user cookies on your computer and clear out all the ones belonging to your forum. The cookies may be getting corrupted and feeding bad info to YaBB.

Ok Done, but... why would this happen to dozens of users at the same time, all seeing the same error message (the same *.pre file)?

Re: Verbose: No such file or directory
Probably not - but that's one spot that bad info could be coming from. I'm going to take a close  look at those other mods. Knowing that on an unmodded install, nothing should be looking for a *.pre file on BoardIndex once the user is logged in, it has to be something in a mod.

I know that SFS doesn't look at .pre files. Derek implicates Users Today as a potential source of trouble and although you have it disabled, there may be parts that didn't turn off. So I'll look at that.

Edited:
Looking at the code for Users Today I'm thinking that the error may be in the ./Variables/usertoday.txt file. From the code each line in that file should have 4 pipe '|' delimited fields and the last field looks like it should be the user name. Although the Users Today script is supposed to erase all the data from that file when the date turns over, I'm wondering if that's happening properly.

I suggest not just disabling that Mod but removing it as it appears that turning if off may not keep it from reading the ./Variables/usertoday.txt file and sending LoadUser requests to Load.pl.  At minimum, find
Code Select All
## Start Users Today Mod ##
    require "$sourcedir/UsersToday.pl";
    &userstoday;
## End Users Today Mod ##

in BoardIndex.pl and comment it out like
Code Select All
## Start Users Today Mod ##
 #   require "$sourcedir/UsersToday.pl";
 #   &userstoday;
## End Users Today Mod ##

 to keep it from loading at all.

Re: Verbose: No such file or directory
I see the ./Variables/usertoday.txt was current up until today so it was still running.

I made the changes you suggested, let see what happens.

Also, I started on upgrading to 2.5.2 and its moving along. Actually way easier than I thought.
