Recover "ex members"

In order to keep our user count somewhat "realistic" we have a policy on our forum to delete users who have not bothered to log in after a two year time period.  Occasionally someone returns from the ether and wants to be "reinstated" but I have no idea how to maybe re-link their old posts, etc. to them.  I do add them back with the same user name, e-mail, etc.

This has only happened 2-3 time as far as I know but one of the "ex members" is somewhat cranky about it...

Thanks,

Justin B.

Try setting their 'new' regstration date to before their first original post.

Thanks!  That got the "ex member" tag to go away but the post count is wrong.  I ran the "Rebuild Members History" option and the post count is still wrong so should I do something else?

We're gettin' there!

You can, as a last resort manually add onto their post count in the Admin Edit Profiles section. But first try setting their membership date back even farther - there maybe posts you missed in calculating their original start date. Or posts may have been removed.

I set the membership date back to the inception of the forum and no joy so I just did a search for posts by that username using a string of common words (a an the I, etc.) and used the number of hits to set the post count in Admin Edits.

Thanks for your help!
