We have done a pretty good job of testing, thanks. No code is perfect, and bizarre things happen, so I am sure we will still discover a few surprises when we release the code.

Up to this point, the Admin Center Maintenance side, Forum Moderator and General new user features have gotten a good working over.

There's another area that has not gotten much attention, in part due to permissions and how much can be done at once.

I'm talking about two things broadly:

A. Categories, Boards and Permissions
New Categories and Boards, moving them about & so forth. Test restricting permissions. Create Polls
B. Anti-spam Measures
   Honeypot, anti-spam question etc.

Sooo, Shazaam - most of you are GM's & I have updated GM Access (at least in theory) on the Basic Beta server. Congratulations, and now -- get to work --  Grin

I registered as a new beta user some time ago with a gmail address, and to remind you, that account locked me out from participating.

Morning, noon, or night, have a great one!

That account was stricken with 0-byte vars disorder.

Bill - no one (other than Dandello)  is more aware than I am of what happened to that account (nor has done more -- again, other than Dandello -- to find out the how and why). What I was saying was 'please make another "throw-away" account'.  Then I will promote that account.

I'll point out what I originally said (which now seems prescient) when you told me you thought I would not approve your account -

Actually, Bill - (speaking as a person with an education in engineering and QA methods) pains-in-the-ass are exactly what you WANT to include in your test groups. (think about it)  People who can't complain do not make good testers, period. So -- get off your lazy ass, stop trolling yabbforum, register for the beta and get to work! (your complex editing is a good test, LOL)

Ah, got it! That makes more sense. Sorry I misunderstood.

On a related note, and please pardon my ignorance on this, but you're saying that neither you nor Dandello can delete that particular "0-byte vars" account of mine so I can use the gmail address I used before?

If that's the case, as you reminded us, Gmail allows for alternate, and additional email addresses anyway, so if you're unable get rid of that bad account for me, I'll just use another gmail account.

It makes me wonder, how does an admin get rid of a "0-byte vars" account? But I guess that question has to be rhetorical. Oh, well.

Edited:
Okay, I followed your instructions. Thanks for reminding me about gmail alias addresses.

Thank you, Jon! I appreciate all of your hard work! Smiley

I've only been in for a short bit, and I'm already very impressed. Great job everyone! Cool

I already played with these before the last update and they seem to be in working order

Ok - thanks

I will let others smack ti around some as they may have more luck doing something inept and unexpected...  Wink

OK I think that was an ambidextrous pseudo-compliment.
