Untrapped Error
Apr 3rd, 2014 at 7:46am
There are no actions to perform.
On Jon B IIS test site.

Having a look as Admin at the Error Log, I found:

Untrapped Error :
Can't call method "upload" on an undefined value at ./Sources/Post.pm line 1153.

I think (not sure) that it happened after I tried to test uploading a video .flv of a size under the 50000 Ko limit.

I've seen this error in other error logs myself but haven't been able to replicate the problem.

@ Dandello -

I subsequently was able to upload & download a 17MB .flv file (Riders on the Storm, if you must know) on the same server. My brain is being tickled by the 'Perl timing' model thought.

My vote is (as the forum did not implode and I was not able to replicate) is "keep a weather eye out" It fits the same category of the Archive::Zip errors. (and may well have the exact same cause). Possible cause - Background process failure as Perl session has expired.

I guess adding a time limit or an auto-refresh to the posting page might help - but I'm not real keen on that solution.

"Me either" áNeed a good generalized solution for our code.

I think we are down to the final countdown on bugs

From Lone Sloane:

Quote:
Concerning the "Untrapped Error"

I am now convinced that it is not Video upload related:
Untrapped Error
First time on April 1st at 19:06:28 (I tried to upload OK)
Second time on April 2 at 14:39:06
Third time yesterday April 3 at 07:30:29; and I did not uploaded any vid yesterday.
Today I uploaded twice, one .flv and one .mp4 both becoming attachment to download and no Error in the Log.

What can be the meaning of the:
./source/Post.pm line 1153
???

Just as information: This Mac is constantly connected to 4out6 old and new. It may be important, who knows?

LOL - maybe it is really a 'trapped error' ??? (but just doesn't know it <smirk>  Tongue)
